Take care of every meal in the middle of the ocean
“The supply work is as important as directly fighting the enemy on the front line” - Uncle Ho's teachings long ago are still the guiding principles for the Navy's logistics soldiers today. In the Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province; the DK1 platform on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland or on combat ships, each meal of the soldiers is the crystallization of elaborate, silent preparations.
Sergeant Dang Thanh Phong, on duty on Song Tu Tay Island (Truong Sa special zone), said: "Since the island has a cold storage, food can be preserved longer and our meals are much more varied. In the middle of the vast ocean, we still have a bowl of sour soup with fresh fish and green vegetables like on the mainland. It is extremely precious."

The Navy's ordnance industry has synchronously implemented many solutions to improve the quality of logistics, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas. The modern cold storage system on the islands of the Truong Sa special zone and mobile cold storage on transport ships have helped preserve fresh food longer and more diversely. Or the concentrated production and processing area in Naval Region 4 - a model of Project QN-21, has become a "green vegetable garden" and "sea wholesale market" of the entire Region.
In 2025, the Navy's logistics sector directed the logistics sector in Region 2 and Region 4 to exploit, receive, and ensure for the forces on duty in Truong Sa special zone and DK1 platform a total volume of more than 2,600 tons of food and provisions; more than 1,000 tons of necessities. Directed the Navy's logistics sector in Region 4 to purchase nearly 14 tons of fish from the 129th Navy Squadron and fishermen to put into the soldiers' meals on the islands. Ensured good food and provisions for the forces performing tasks A50, A80 and activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Navy. Ensured adequate, timely, synchronous, and unified equipment, utensils for dining and kitchens on shore, on ships, on islands, and on platforms. Focus on guiding and directing units to synchronously deploy production increase work, especially Region 4 to organize effective farming in concentrated production increase areas, ensuring that the price of increased products put into soldiers' meals is lower than the market price...
Those are the results and numbers that speak to the spirit of "diligence, thrift, and efficiency" following Uncle Ho's example.
Regular in every uniform
If meals represent the care of daily life, then the military uniform is the "face" of the marine soldier. In recent times, the Navy's logistics sector has done a good job of ensuring military uniforms for training, combat readiness, defense diplomacy and unexpected missions. A notable highlight is the introduction of the K24 uniform to replace the previous K08 model, contributing to building the image of a regular, modern Navy soldier in the new era.

In 2025, the 7-5 Garment Factory, the Navy Logistics and Engineering Department made efforts to ensure military uniforms for the training and combat readiness tasks of the Navy, especially ensuring K24 uniforms to serve the 70th Anniversary of the Navy's founding (May 7, 1955 / May 7, 2025) and the forces participating in mission A80.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Ha Thi Bich Thuy, Director of Garment Factory 7-5, shared: Learning and following Uncle Ho, the officers and employees of Garment Factory 7-5 always uphold the spirit of responsibility, strive to complete all tasks well; despite the large volume and urgent time, they still ensure good product quality.
Thanks to that effort, the Navy uniform is always guaranteed to be correct, sufficient, timely, and standardized, contributing to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers and Navy soldiers. The neatness and uniformity in the form of military uniform is also one of the criteria for building a regular, modern Army; demonstrating the synchronous innovation in military logistics work.
Spreading Uncle Ho's style in the new era
From these seemingly small tasks, the officers and employees of the Navy logistics industry are learning from Uncle Ho in the spirit of thrift, dedication, responsibility, and love for people. Whether in the garment factory, in the food warehouse, or in the kitchen on a remote island, they still shine with their love for the job, their dedication, and their will to overcome difficulties.
Lieutenant Colonel Do Van Toan, Head of the Quartermaster Department, Naval Logistics and Engineering Department, affirmed: "We believe that learning from Uncle Ho is not only in words but also in concrete actions. Each assigned task must be associated with actual effectiveness and practical benefits for the troops."
It is known that the emulation movement "Building a good military unit, good military logistics management" has spread widely in the Navy. Many initiatives have been effectively applied, such as: Replacing old boilers with modern oil and electric stoves; installing bottled water filters on islands; applying a 3-step verification process; transparent financial management; moving towards digital transformation in the military logistics sector.
The Navy's logistics sector is an indispensable link in the overall strength of the Army, increasingly affirming its important role: Fully and thoughtfully ensuring the lives of soldiers; contributing to the construction of a regular and modern logistics-technical sector; spreading the spirit of learning from Uncle Ho from the simplest things. On every voyage, amidst the salty waves, each grain of salt, each drop of fresh water, each bowl of rice, each uniform is imbued with love for the Fatherland, love for comrades, a silent contribution of the Navy's logistics soldiers./.
