The 2025 University and College Admissions Choice Festival was organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) with the support of Vingroup Corporation.

The Ministry of Education and Training is expected to announce the high school graduation exam scores of this year's candidates on July 16. Immediately after that, from 4pm to 5pm on July 28 is considered the key stage of this year's university and college admissions season.
During this period, hundreds of thousands of candidates will register, adjust and add their wishes directly on the Ministry of Education and Training's General Admission System or the National Public Service Portal.
Some other notable milestones during this peak: On July 21, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the threshold for ensuring the quality of input for teacher training and health care sectors with practice licenses. On July 23, training institutions will adjust and announce the scores for receiving application documents and equivalent admission scores on their systems and websites.
Amidst a series of important milestones, candidates are also at their most stressed. Just deleting, adding, or rearranging their preferences on the system can be a pressure for many candidates and their parents.
Because according to the regulations, each candidate can only be admitted to one wish, so any changes can decide the final result of the students. This means that choosing and arranging the right and appropriate wishes becomes more important than ever.
According to the organizers, the Tuoi Tre newspaper's 2025 university and college admission selection day proves its urgency. It takes place just three days after the announcement of high school graduation exam results and the start of registration and adjustment of university and college admission wishes.

In addition, the new regulations on the use of foreign language certificates have also been adjusted to be more fair. Candidates can convert points from international certificates, but the total bonus points cannot exceed 10% of the admission score scale, and if included in a combination, it cannot exceed 50% of the weight of that combination. This requires "strategies" to set aspirations in the direction of "taking advantage of bonus points" to be carefully reconsidered.
MSc. Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs at the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said that this year, because there is no more early admission, universities and candidates are almost all focusing on the registration stage on the Ministry of Education and Training's common information portal, which takes place from July 16 to 28. Many universities will have specific requirements for different documents and supporting documents, some require direct submission at the school, others allow online submission.
However, he emphasized that candidates need to be clearly aware that no matter which method they use, their wishes must still be officially registered on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training, because only then will the admission be recognized.
Another point he noted was the conversion of scores between admission methods, because each school defines different methods and conversion formulas. Candidates need to take the time to learn specifically the score conversion rules of each training institution to avoid being disadvantaged.
In addition, in the context that vocational education management has been transferred to the Ministry of Education and Training since March 2025, Ms. Phan Thi Le Thu - Vice Principal of Vien Dong College - said that many colleges will start participating in the common admission system with the university sector. The fact that colleges are encouraged to include information in the common admission system helps parents and students have a more comprehensive view, easily comparing between vocational training and university options.
"This is also information that candidates need to pay close attention to during the selection process to avoid errors in the registration process," said Ms. Thu.
