The 2025 University and College Admissions Selection Festival was organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) with the support of Vingroup Corporation.

The Ministry of Education and Training is expected to announce the high school graduation exam scores of this year's candidates on July 16. Immediately after that, from 4pm to 5pm on July 28 is considered the key stage of this year's university and college admissions season.

During this period, hundreds of thousands of candidates will register, adjust and supplement their wishes directly on the Ministry of Education and Training's General Admission System or the National Public Service Portal.

Some other notable milestones during this peak: On July 21, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the threshold for ensuring the quality of input for teacher training majors and health majors with practice licenses. On July 23, training institutions will adjust and announce the scores for receiving application documents and equivalent admission scores on their systems and websites.

Amidst a series of important milestones, candidates are also at their most stressed. Just deleting, adding, or rearranging their preferences on the system can be a pressure for many candidates and their parents.

This requires "strategies" to set aspirations in the direction of "taking advantage of bonus points" to be carefully reconsidered.

Cu Xuan Tien, head of the Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said that this year, because there is no longer early admission, universities and candidates are almost all focusing on the registration stage on the general information portal of the Ministry of Education and Training, which takes place from July 16 to 28. Many universities will have specific requirements for different documents and supporting documents, some require direct submission at the school, others allow online submission.

However, he emphasized that candidates need to be clearly aware that no matter which method they use, their wishes must still be officially registered on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training, because only then will the admission be recognized.

In addition, another point he noted is the conversion of scores between admission methods, because each school defines different methods and conversion formulas. Candidates need to spend time to learn specifically the score conversion rules of each training institution to avoid being disadvantaged.

In addition, in the context that vocational education management has been transferred to the Ministry of Education and Training since March 2025, Ms. Phan Thi Le Thu - Vice Principal of Vien Dong College - said that many colleges will begin to participate in the common admission system with the university sector.
