“Think deep, do big”, maximize strengths, make Quang Tri develop more and more

On the afternoon of July 26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his delegation inspected the progress of the North-South Expressway Project, Cam Lo - Van Ninh section; Quang Tri Airport and My Thuy Port Project.

On the side of Quang Tri province, there were Central Party Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang; Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors.

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo section project is part of the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project in the 2021 - 2025 period, with a total investment of over VND9,919 billion. To date, the main volumes have been basically completed. Only the work remaining is to complete 3 overpasses, intersections and village traffic safety. Contractors are working in 3 shifts, 4 teams, striving to complete the project by the end of July, early August 2025, and put it into operation on August 19.

The Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway project is being urgently accelerated.

My Thuy Port is a key project of the province, covering an area of 685 hectares, with a total investment of 15,000 billion VND invested by My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Company. The project is divided into 3 phases, of which phase 1 has a total investment of more than 5,900 billion VND, with construction time from 2023 to 2027. Currently, the site clearance work of phase 1 has been completed. My Thuy International Port Joint Venture Company is carrying out the construction of phase 1 of the 4-berth project, and the items are being focused on speeding up the progress.

Next, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the Quang Tri Airport Construction Investment Project. The project is divided into two component projects: Component Project 1 - Site Clearance; Component Project 2 - Airport Construction. The apron and material curbs have been completed, and the runway and taxiway projects are under construction; the passenger terminal and air traffic control tower projects are under construction.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and provincial leaders presented gifts to officials and workers constructing the projects.

Reporting to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the working delegation on the project implementation status, the investors also proposed and recommended a number of contents to speed up the progress of the projects and increase efficiency when put into operation.

Key projects completed and put into use will contribute to strongly changing the appearance of Quang Tri province.

After listening to the progress report of key projects, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the efforts of the province, departments, branches and investors. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the potential and strengths of Quang Tri province and suggested suitable directions to further develop his homeland Quang Tri. In particular, the Prime Minister noted that, along with accelerating the progress of key projects, it is necessary to complete planning work, effectively exploit the advantages of transportation to develop industry, urban areas, services, tourism, high-tech agriculture..., gradually bringing people's lives to become more prosperous and happy.

The Prime Minister requested provincial leaders, departments and branches to boldly "think deeply, do big", make the most of the strengths of the highway system, coastal roads, airports, seaports..., to promote regional and regional connectivity, making Quang Tri increasingly developed. Along with that, be ready to deploy the high-speed railway project in the coming time. The Prime Minister also mentioned some specific timelines for the projects and requested investors to focus all their efforts to reach the finish line on schedule.
