The terrain of Ngoc Thanh commune is mostly hills and mountains, with many lakes and streams. The climate is mild and cool due to the protection of the Tam Dao range and the Cot Co, Mo Qua and Than Lan mountains. Dai Lai lake area with a natural area of ​​1,500 hectares, of which the water surface area is 525 hectares, is the center of Ngoc Thanh tourism and Phuc Yen tourism.

Mr. Luu Tien Chung, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, affirmed: Ngoc Thanh benefits a lot from tourism. About 70% of the workers in the tourist areas are locals. Many households have invested in building homestays and doing tourism business.

Among the tourism projects in Ngoc Thanh, the most famous is Flamingo Dai Lai resort with 65 prestigious domestic and international awards. In the first 9 months of 2024 alone, this tourist facility welcomed more than 80,000 guests and tens of thousands of visitors. The Soul of the Forest music and fashion program brings visitors high-class experiences.

Recently, Flamingo Dai Lai resort also stirred up the triangle of Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen with the Lala Town street festival including a series of continuous activities from entertainment, cuisine, experiences, and fun music every night and especially on weekends, creating an impressive new space in the Dai Lai area.

In general, businesses in Ngoc Thanh focus on developing high-end services and luxury customers. Small tourist establishments focus on the budget segment.

Currently, the roads in the area have been renovated, upgraded, and installed with decorative electricity and lighting to create favorable conditions for implementing tours and tourist routes. In addition, Phuc Yen city invests in preserving and promoting historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, producing tourism promotion programs, and preserving the traditional cultural values ​​of the San Diu ethnic group.

Ngoc Thanh Commune borders Hanoi capital and Thai Nguyen province, and is identified as a key area for tourism development in Vinh Phuc province. Based on the planning, Phuc Yen city is investing in a series of projects to renovate and expand the road to Soc Son, Hanoi connecting Noi Bai International Airport; upgrading the road from Ngoc Thanh commune to But Pass to Pho Yen city, Thai Nguyen province.

In the period of 2023-2025, Phuc Yen city plans to invest in completing infrastructure to serve Dai Lai tourism development with a total investment of more than 550 billion VND.

The city has allocated a large land fund to develop large commercial and tourism projects such as: Lap Dinh Lake tourism and service urban area with an area of ​​over 500 hectares; Eco-tourism resort complex, golf course and entertainment services with an area of ​​over 600 hectares.

The city is calling for investment in tourism development for the following projects: Ngoc Thanh North Tourist Area; Dai Lai Lake West Luxury Resort; Bat Cave Tourist Area Infrastructure Investment; Thanh Cao Tourist Area Infrastructure Investment.

Phuc Yen City currently has about 2,000 accommodation rooms. The number of tourists in 2024 is about 1.1 million people, revenue reaches more than 1,000 billion VND. It is forecasted that in the period of 2025-2030, the number of tourists visiting and relaxing in Phuc Yen will reach from 1.5 million to 2.5 million people; the number of accommodation rooms will increase by about 500 rooms.

Mr. Phan Tien Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Yen City, stated: The city aims to turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector with many diverse tourism products such as: Resort tourism, eco-tourism associated with entertainment; discovery and adventure tourism; experiential tourism; community tourism, craft village tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism.

Dai Lai tourist area continues to be invested in to become a key project combining the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage with the development of spiritual tourism.

Phuc Yen also cooperates in developing tourism with districts in the province and neighboring provinces, building tours and routes connecting with Tam Dao, Tay Thien, Hung Temple, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, and Hanoi; investing in infrastructure to develop tourism and traffic connecting tourist destinations.

Besides Dai Lai Lake, Ngoc Thanh Commune also has many pristine lakes with beautiful landscapes such as Lap Dinh, Thanh Cao, Dong Cau, Trai Trau lakes, all of which have great tourism potential. Special-use forests and high mountain peaks bring immense green to this land.

If it has modern infrastructure and attracts large investors, Ngoc Thanh commune and the northern area of ​​Phuc Yen city will certainly become an international-class tourist center, a bright spot of Vinh Phuc tourism industry.
