The Vu Huy family in Tho Hoang village (An Thi commune) is one of the families with a long tradition of studiousness, and has been recognized for many years as a typical cultural and learning family. An important contributor to this common success is Mr. Vu Xuan Ly, Head of the family's Education Promotion Committee.
Immediately after retiring from Hai Phong and returning to his hometown, Mr. Ly devoted all his heart to building the Education Promotion Board. With his prestige, he successfully mobilized the elders to be the core, calling on the younger generations to join hands to build the education promotion fund. From the initial contributions, through many years of accumulation, the Vu Huy Education Promotion Fund has become strong, becoming a great source of spiritual and material encouragement for students in the family.
Mr. Ly said that to maintain a sustainable fund, the Education Promotion Committee saves money to earn interest and continuously mobilizes funds. Up to now, the fund has exceeded the 100 million VND mark. A particularly effective way of doing this is to invite successful children of the family to directly present awards. "The higher the children's scores, the higher the reward," he shared. This method creates a strong motivation, arousing the spirit of competition in learning among children and grandchildren.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thu, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Tho Hoang village, said that thanks to the persistent participation of the elderly, the Vu Huy family now has 3 PhDs, many masters, bachelors and hundreds of successful people. Not only the Vu Huy family, Tho Hoang village currently has 8/9 families that have established a Learning Promotion Committee and maintain the annual awarding of excellent students, the local learning promotion movement is very developed. Most of the people who initiated and built the model are elderly, including many retired teachers.
In Bac Tien Hung commune, out of 44 learning promotion associations, 25/30 village association presidents are elderly. Mr. Nguyen Vi Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, Chairman of the Commune Learning Promotion Association, said: The elderly are the core force, both prestigious and "big trees" that inspire and connect the community. Despite their old age, many of them still go to each household to mobilize members, mobilize resources to build a learning promotion fund, promptly encourage students with high achievements and support students in difficulty.

In Bich Du village (Thai Ninh commune), Mr. Pham Duc Quan, head of the Pham Duc family's Education Promotion Board, is a typical example in promoting the role of the elderly. Mr. Quan informed: For many years, the family's Education Promotion Fund has always maintained nearly 100 million VND, from voluntary contributions from successful families and descendants. On the anniversary of the founder's death, the Education Promotion Board organizes to honor and reward students who overcome difficulties and study well, which has become a beautiful tradition, adding motivation to the younger generation. Even though they work far away, children and grandchildren still turn to their roots, joining hands to preserve the tradition of studiousness that the elders have worked hard to cultivate.

In recent years, the Provincial Association of the Elderly at all levels has integrated the "Old age - bright example" movement with the movement to encourage learning and talent. Thanks to that, each member has promoted his or her role in the family, clan, and village; set an example in encouraging children and grandchildren to study, actively participate in social activities, and build a cultural life. Mr. Vu Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Learning, said: The whole province has more than 400 grassroots associations for the promotion of learning; nearly 40% of the association's staff are elderly people, especially more than 90% of the staff participating in the promotion of learning are retirees. "With their enthusiasm, experience, and sense of responsibility, the elderly have contributed to spreading the movement to encourage learning and talent, promoting the socialization of education in the area," Mr. Thanh emphasized.
The persistent and silent contributions of the elderly have created a strong driving force for the learning movement in the community, contributing to improving the quality of education and preserving the tradition of learning of the homeland through many generations. This is also an important foundation in nurturing talents, building Hung Yen province to be more and more prosperous.
