The province currently has 110,303 elderly people, of which 100,155 are members of the Elderly Association. In recent times, the Association at all levels has coordinated with the government, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations to carry out the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life"; the movement "Join hands and hearts to build new rural areas - civilized urban areas"; the movement "Exemplary grandparents and parents, filial children and grandchildren" associated with the movement "Old age - Bright example", building the image of the elderly as the pillars of the family, exemplary in advising children, grandchildren, relatives and the community to comply well with the Party's policies and the State's laws; building cultural families, model families. Through the movements, the role of the elderly continues to be promoted, many families of members and the elderly voluntarily contribute money, property and efforts to build social welfare works and rural traffic in residential areas, contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas in the locality. Specifically, in the period of 2021 - 2025, through propaganda and mobilization work, nearly 5,000 elderly members and their children voluntarily donated over 24,457 m2 of land, contributed more than 3 billion 403 million VND, contributed over 3,049 working days to build rural roads, social welfare works and planted 445,927 trees, contributing to creating a "green, clean, beautiful" environment.

In particular, despite entering the "rare" age, many members of the Elderly Association are still shining examples in developing family economy. Many elderly people with experience in production and business have actively researched, grasped science and technology, imparted, guided and created conditions for their children and elderly members to do business, create jobs, increase income, and contribute to improving family living standards. The whole province currently has over 28,500 elderly people directly participating in production, of which 790 elderly people are owners of farms and production and business establishments, with 2,042 elderly people doing good business, creating jobs and stable income for more than 10,500 local workers. In addition, the Elderly Association at the grassroots level and the village and neighborhood branches have used the Fund to help 5,646 members borrow over 33.3 billion VND to do family economy, contributing to poverty reduction and legitimate enrichment.

With their experience, prestige, responsibility and enthusiasm, the elderly are not only a reliable support for their families and the Association, but also a positive and typical factor, participating effectively in the work of building the political system at the grassroots level and in villages and neighborhoods. The whole province currently has 34,235 elderly people who are Party members, 32,825 people who are retired cadres, 19,130 elderly people directly participating in the work of the Party, government, Fatherland Front, mass organizations in villages, neighborhoods, self-management groups, security and order protection groups, and reconciliation groups in residential areas; of which 996 people are secretaries, 903 deputy secretaries and heads of village/neighborhood executive committees, 2,252 people are heads and deputy heads of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in communes, wards and towns, and 14,020 people are heads and deputy heads of mass organizations and self-management groups. According to their positions, most of the elderly have a high sense of responsibility, are dynamic, creative, and proactive in carrying out assigned tasks. They actively maintain internal solidarity, encourage cadres, party members, and people to set an example in implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws. For the elderly in coastal and island communes, they always actively participate in border and island protection activities, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the locality.

The results that the Elderly Association at all levels in the province have achieved in recent times have clearly demonstrated the role, position, potential and creativity of the elderly cadres and members in contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic, defense and security tasks.
