With more than a week left until the Lunar New Year 2025, shopping activities in Hanoi's Old Quarter are extremely bustling, with some roads congested even though it is not rush hour.
Recorded on January 19, on Hang Ma Street (Hoan Kiem District), Tet decoration items were displayed in abundance, attracting many people to visit and shop.
Because of the crowd and narrow roads, people had to squeeze together to move.
People come to the market not only to buy decorations, but also to experience the traditional Tet atmosphere of the nation.
Children enjoy shopping with their families on Hang Ma Street.
Not only on Hang Ma street, the traditional Tet flower market also spreads to Hang Khoai, Hang Ruoi and Hang Luoc streets, creating a large space with a variety of goods to serve people's shopping needs.
Antiques, old items, fake antiques... are always displayed in the middle of the street.
Mr. Quang Dung (Cau Giay district) said: "Today is the weekend so my whole family went to buy Tet decorations such as flowers, firecrackers, lucky money envelopes, lights...".
Hang Luoc flower market (Hoan Kiem district) is bustling, with a variety of products such as peach and kumquat trees for sale, attracting many people to visit and shop.
Also according to records on some major inner-city routes, the density of vehicles participating in traffic has increased. In the photo, at Nga Tu So, although it is not rush hour, vehicles have to stop and wait for at least 2 traffic lights before being able to pass.
On the morning of January 19, there was a long traffic jam on Ring Road 2 down to Nga Tu So.
Many people feel annoyed when they have to stop and wait for many red lights before being able to go through intersections.
The main road leading to Hanoi's Old Quarter, Kim Ma and Nguyen Thai Hoc (Ba Dinh District), is congested for a long time. People have to stop and wait for 2-3 traffic lights to be able to move through the intersections.
