Immediately after the clip went viral, many people expressed outrage, saying that this was an unacceptable act of violence in a medical environment.
"This is a place to save lives, we cannot allow doctors to be assaulted right in the hospital, it needs to be handled seriously," commented one account.
On June 2, a representative of the Nghe An Department of Health confirmed that they had sent a document requesting Nghe An General Hospital to specifically report the incident. The hospital is urgently verifying and requesting relevant individuals to write a report.
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, an emergency department officer said that on the morning of June 1, the man in the clip suddenly rushed to assault the doctor on duty at the reception desk, suspected of being drunk.
"Immediately after the incident, the hospital reported it to the local authorities. The police intervened and invited the man to come in for questioning. Through observation, the man showed signs of having used alcohol when attacking the medical staff," he said.
The incident raises concerns about the lack of security and safety in the medical examination and treatment environment, which should be a respectful, civilized space and absolutely protected by law.
