According to Thai news agency The Thaiger , an unidentified man from Saraburi province in central Thailand brought more than 10 small gold nuggets to a local gold shop for testing and valuation.
He said these gold nuggets were collected from cremated remains of the deceased during his working life.
The man claimed that all the gold was obtained legally and with the consent of the deceased's family. He added that he planned to use part of the proceeds to make merit on behalf of the deceased.
He said that after cremation, the remains usually consist of ashes, bone fragments and sometimes gold pieces mixed in. Most families do not want to keep the remaining gold and usually give it to the funeral service.

Unsure whether it was real gold or not, he went to a famous gold shop in Saraburi to have it analyzed and tested.
On April 25, a gold shop owner named Namo posted a video on social media.
In the video, the shop owner uses an X-ray machine to inspect each piece of gold and confirms that all of them are real gold.
He also held up a gold denture to the camera and said: "Most of the gold comes from dentures."
The total value of the gold is estimated at 59,371 baht ($1,800). The gold was then melted into a 21.13 gram gold bar.
The video has attracted nearly 14,000 likes at the time of writing, sparking a heated discussion online. One account said: "Gold is so expensive now. Congratulations, uncle."
Another said: "You have done many good deeds throughout your life. It is a job that many people do not dare to do. I believe that the deceased and their family will be happy to keep that gold."
