This year's National Day holiday on September 2nd lasts 4 days, so many people choose to return to their hometowns instead of staying in the capital. This afternoon (August 30th), as soon as work ends (4pm to 5pm), the flow of vehicles on the streets increases, causing some roads such as Giai Phong, Ngoc Hoi, National Highway 1A, Cau Giay, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien, Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Xien, Giai Phong... to be jammed with vehicles.

According to Tien Phong reporters, at 6:00 a.m. on August 30, in the Nguyen Xien street area, traffic congestion occurred in the lanes leaving Hanoi both below and above.

“I just finished work so I brought my suitcase back to my hometown. I know there will be traffic jams but I have no choice. I’ll go back as soon as I can. I only have a few days off so I’ll take advantage of it,” said Viet Huy (from Hung Yen ).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (28 years old, from Hai Phong) is worried about this trip with her young children back to her hometown. "I'm picking up my two children from school, tonight my family will go back to my hometown by motorbike, the traffic is so congested, I'm worried", Ms. Lan said.
