Heavy rain causes landslides and traffic jams on Provincial Road 178 Xin Man - Quang Binh

Due to heavy rain lasting from the night of September 15 to the morning of September 16, at Km9 Provincial Road 178 (Xin Man - Quang Binh), a serious landslide occurred in Nam Dan commune, with an estimated volume of rock and soil of about 300m3, causing local traffic congestion on the route.

Immediately after the landslide occurred, local authorities coordinated with functional forces and the area's road management unit to put up warning signs, temporarily divert traffic, and mobilize machinery and vehicles to urgently fix the problem.

Comrade Ly Quoc Hung, Head of the Economic Department of Nam Dan Commune, said: "Currently, the repair work is still being implemented. It is expected that by 2:00 p.m. on September 16, the route will be basically open, ensuring safety for people's travel."

Faced with complicated weather developments, local authorities recommend that people traveling on this route proactively grasp information, arrange reasonable schedules and be vigilant to ensure safety for themselves and their families.
