Heartbroken when second homeland flooded
Recently, Urban Railway Company No. 1 coordinated to deploy a point to receive relief goods for people in the Central region affected by floods.
According to Tuoi Tre Online , at stations: Ben Thanh, City Theater, Thao Dien, National University... the list of people coming to support the people is still growing.
The relief goods receiving points also received the kindness of many international friends living in Ho Chi Minh City. Among them, Mr. Yoan (French nationality) and his daughter went to Thao Dien station to send some necessities and instant noodles to the people of Central Vietnam.
While personally placing the bags in the receiving area, he said that he has lived in Vietnam for nearly 10 years and considers this country his second home. “I read online that the provinces I have been to such as Dak Lak , Lam Dong... were all severely damaged by floods, so I felt very sorry and sad. When I heard about the donation, my wife and I immediately packed our things to support. I hope everyone is safe,” he added.

At the reception points, staff of Urban Railway Company No. 1 were also on duty, actively supporting and guiding people to take notes, receive and classify relief goods, and then transport them together to the gathering location.
"As long as I can help, I will continue to support"
At Ben Thanh station, Ms. Trang (living in the old District 4) hurriedly carried many bags of necessities that she had just bought early in the morning. She said that she had previously transferred donations to the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, but when she saw information on social networks that metro stations were accepting donations, she immediately ran to buy more noodles, cakes, and packed 4 more bags of clothes.

“As long as I can help and have the conditions, I will continue to support. I feel so sorry and sympathetic, but my fellow countrymen need me now, so I will try my best,” she said.
Because she learned the information a bit late, she only had time to prepare some items for today's donation, but now she is also asking friends and relatives to buy more instant noodles, water and milk to send for the upcoming November 24 donation.
Many others such as Mr. Kiet Tuong (Binh Quoi ward), Ms. Ngan (Thao Dien ward)... also said they got the information through newspapers, social networks or through friends.
To help people stay informed, loudspeakers at 14 metro stations continuously announced the time and method of donation. Thanks to that, people in the station, waiting for the train, could easily know and participate, creating an atmosphere of love and sharing throughout the morning of November 22.
The metro stations becoming relief receiving points is considered a very meaningful solution because many people do not have the convenience to go to the Fatherland Front Committee's donation points but can still contribute while going to work or on their way home at the stations.
After receiving, the staff will load the goods onto specialized vehicles and transport them to Ben Thanh Station, City Theater - the gathering point of the entire system before transferring them to the support point of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
