Nguyen Binh actively eliminates temporary and dilapidated houses - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

Implementing the Party and State's policy on sustainable poverty reduction, ensuring social security and improving living conditions for people, Nguyen Binh district actively deploys the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. This is a program of profound humanitarian significance, aiming to improve the quality of life for poor households, near-poor households, policy households and disadvantaged people in society.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, Nguyen Binh district has 2,840 households eligible for support. Of which, 1,834 households need to build new houses, 97 households need to repair 1 - 2 hard criteria and 909 households need to repair 3 hard criteria. The program not only helps people have solid and safe places to live but also contributes to completing housing criteria in new rural construction, improving the appearance of rural areas and promoting socio -economic development in the locality.

By the end of 2024, the district has supported the construction and repair of 1,860 houses (1,312 newly built houses, 62 houses repaired with 2 hard criteria and 486 houses repaired with 3 hard criteria). The total support cost is 73 billion 927 million VND, of which the central budget is 50 billion 910 million VND, the local budget is 8 billion 214 million VND and the mobilized socialized source is 10 billion 753 million VND. The completion rate reached 65.49% compared to the plan for the whole period.

In 2024 and January 2025, support 1,396 houses, including 967 newly built houses, 50 houses repaired with 2 criteria and 627 houses repaired with 3 criteria; total cost of 42 billion 584 million VND. Completion rate reached 82.57% of the plan.

The family of Ms. Truong Thi Le, Nguyen Binh town (Nguyen Binh) borrowed capital according to Decree No. 28 of the Government to demolish temporary and dilapidated houses.

The District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office closely coordinates with the People's Committees of communes and socio -political organizations that receive the trust such as the Women's Union, Farmers' Association, Youth Union, etc. to review the needs, make a list of beneficiaries and deploy loans promptly and to the right beneficiaries. As of March 2025, the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office disbursed loans to 43 households for housing construction with a total amount of 1.72 billion VND. Compared to the end of 2024, the outstanding loan increased by 1.63 billion VND.

Currently, in the district, there are 1,156 households in need of support, of which 657 households need to build new houses and 499 households need to repair according to the 3 hard criteria. The District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office continues to coordinate with the Party Committee, commune-level authorities and mass organizations to strengthen propaganda, review and promptly disburse capital according to the plan. The goal is to complete 100% of the loan target for building and repairing houses for the subjects under the program by May 30, 2025.

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Nguyen Binh district is a vivid demonstration of the spirit of “leaving no one behind” and the practical role of policy credit in the work of hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and sustainable new rural construction. In the coming time, with the drastic participation of the entire political system, we believe that the program’s goals will be achieved, bringing stable lives to thousands of households in the district.
