Cheo Theater performs program to participate in solo and ensemble competition of traditional musical instruments

On the evening of June 16, the Cheo Theater held a performance and reported to the artistic council the program to participate in the 2023 national competition for solo and ensemble performances of traditional musical instruments.

The program attracted the attention of many art lovers in the province.

Participating in the competition, artists from Thai Binh Cheo Theater performed 3 orchestral pieces: "Duong truong trong rung" (ancient version), "Con ga rung" (ancient version with development), "Nhip cheo duoi trang" (composed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Quang Hung). In addition, there were 5 solo pieces by artists, including: solo erhu, solo dan bau, solo dang nguyet, solo tam thap luc, solo drum. This is an artistic playground to honor and promote the values of Vietnamese folk music , thereby contributing practically to the work of preserving and promoting the values of national music.

The 2023 National Traditional Instrument Solo and Ensemble Competition attracted the participation of nearly 1,000 artists from 38 art units across the country. In previous participations, the Thai Binh Cheo Theater Orchestra has won many medals at the National Traditional Instrument Solo and Ensemble Competition and is considered one of the strongest orchestras of the Cheo art unit.
