From July, Hai Phong City Theater will be "lit up" on weekend nights.
Accordingly, at Hai Phong City Theater, every Saturday and Sunday evening from July 1 to the end of 2023, there will be art programs, academic, classic, and unique plays from the world and Vietnam in many art forms performed by art units of the city, the Central Theater, other provinces and cities, and event organizers inside and outside the city.
Director of Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai introduced the plan "Lighting up the City Theater".
Director of the Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that the program was implemented with the hope that Hai Phong City Theater would not only be a national architectural and artistic relic, but also a "cultural and tourist destination", an address that meets the spiritual and cultural life and entertainment needs of the people.
The need for cultural activities and performing arts is a step forward in the development of national culture. Performing arts activities at the City Theater are expected to not only be a "stage" for art troupes inside and outside the city, but also contribute to creating "attraction" for audiences to "return" to performing arts activities, contributing to making theater stages "light up" again.
Culture and art have always been one of the driving forces contributing to building the spiritual foundation of society and the development of Vietnamese people. "The plan "Lighting up the City Theater" will contribute to improving spiritual life, creating conditions for the public and tourists to access and enjoy more art forms, unique and outstanding academic, classical, traditional and modern stage works", affirmed Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong Tran Thi Hoang Mai.
The leaders of Hai Phong city and the Department of Culture and Sports committed to accompany and actively support art troupes to successfully implement the program.
The classic play Romeo and Juliet by Hai Phong Drama Troupe will open the "Lighting up the City Theater" program.
Specifically, the plan will open with two "lights on" nights on the evenings of July 1 and 2 at the City Theater with the classic play Romeo and Juliet by the Hai Phong Drama Troupe.
At the same time, the August Theater also "lit up" with performances such as "Ai roi cung se khac" by Song By Night Trading, Service and Media Joint Stock Company and "Doi cuoi" by Tuoi Tre Theater.
People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, said that the plan "Lighting up the City Theater" is a practical policy. Together with the "Television Stage" project, the plan "Lighting up the City Theater" will continue to affirm Hai Phong as a "bright spot" of the country in performing arts activities.
