Nguyen Van Chung is known as the richest musician in Vietnam.

Recently, the trio of "hit makers" (musicians who own many hit songs) Nguyen Van Chung, Hamlet Truong, Nguyen Minh Cuong revealed "sideline" stories, bringing their names to the audience, causing excitement.

Known as the "richest" musician in Vietnam with a huge collection of hit songs such as: Warm Wind Scarf, Bamboo Grasshopper, Cold Winter, Mother's Diary, Rainy Road ... but few people know that the musical career came to musician Nguyen Van Chung only because of a broken heart.

Nguyen Van Chung's future orientation from the beginning was another career that had nothing to do with music. However, after his first love left him without a word, the heart of the twenty-year-old boy was broken. Not knowing where to express his sadness, Nguyen Van Chung started writing music to express his feelings.

The first song he sold for 500 thousand dong

The songs that Nguyen Van Chung wrote at that time, according to his own assessment, were still very naive, wrote whatever came to mind and "seriously lacked logic". However, when listening to the melodies of those songs, his friends found them very catchy and advised him to send them to singers to listen to. Following his friend's "instigation", Nguyen Van Chung asked for their contact information to send them in the hope that his idols would notice.

The first song that Nguyen Van Chung was selected for was "The Teacher of the Past" performed by singer Nguyen Vu. According to the musician, at that time he did not care about how much money his song would sell for. "I sent the song and just hoped that the singer would sing my song, that was happiness," Nguyen Van Chung said. With his first hit sold, Nguyen Van Chung was paid 500,000 VND by singer Nguyen Vu the same night after he finished performing.

For a student at that time, 500,000 VND was a huge amount of money. "Holding 500,000 VND in hand, Chung felt very satisfied and happy. After that, Chung sold exclusive songs for 2 million VND per song. At that time, Chung simply thought that if he sold 2 million VND per song, if he wrote 3 songs, he would earn 6 million VND. People worked for 4 million VND per month, but if he earned 6 million VND, it was great," the musician humorously recalled.

Owner of the hit "Colorless Flowers", musician Nguyen Minh Cuong sells music for 0 VND

Unlike his seniors, the first song that musician Nguyen Minh Cuong sold for 0 VND was a song he composed for a friend. The second song was "Ca mot troi thuong nho" performed by singer Ho Ngoc Ha.

Sharing about how to get singers to pay attention to his "child", musician Nguyen Minh Cuong said: "When Cuong was practicing composing, he had no connections, so he could only send songs via email and then pray to God for the artist to read his email. When Cuong sent the song 'Ca mot troi thuong nho' to Ho Ngoc Ha, luckily, about 5 minutes later, he received a response. That song was a turning point for Cuong's composing career so that more people would know about it, and it was also an MV that left a mark on singer Ho Ngoc Ha."
