Musician Nguyen Van Chung helps idol drama actress My Tam have a million-view hit

Singer Phan Nhu Thuy - owner of the song "Noi gio len" by Nguyen Van Chung that once caused a stir, shared about her 8-year career full of challenges and her desire to be recognized.

Graduated from the College of Culture and Arts, majoring in Vocal Music, Phan Nhu Thuy began to gain public attention through the Buffalo musical group - winning the championship of the Vietnam Laughter contest. After that, she had the opportunity to act in films and plays, and also won the runner-up prize of Tuyet Dinh Song Ca and Hay Nghe Toi Hat.

The turning point came when she met musician Nguyen Van Chung at Hong Van stage. Initially, Nhu Thuy only asked to cover Tet Xa but after hearing her voice, the musician proposed to collaborate. The song Noi Gio Len was born and became a social media phenomenon with tens of millions of views.

Singer Phan Nhu Thuy, born in 1995 in Ho Chi Minh City, has just entered the top 10 of Miss Grand Vietnam 2025.

"The song was a hit, everyone knew it by heart, but when I introduced the name, they were confused. Only when I sang the part 'rising wind' did everyone point to my face: 'Ah, I know this song!'", Nhu Thuy shared with VietNamNet about the story of "knowing the face but not the name".

This is the motivation that made her decide to participate in Miss Grand Vietnam 2025. With a modest height of 1.63m, she knew that her ability to go far was not high but she was still determined to increase her recognition, so entering the Top 10 surprised Nhu Thuy.

Nhu Thuy also appeared as a drama actress and voice actor.

Currently, she still performs plays every weekend at the Ban Mai children's theater. Although her income is only a few hundred thousand per play, she sticks with it because of "the feeling of living with the passion of the stage."

Having not achieved the desired success in her 8 years of artistic activities, Nhu Thuy wanted to quit her career 3 times: to become an actress, to return to school to teach (which only lasted 1 month), and during the Covid-19 pandemic. "Every time I quit, I came back. I thought I could do nothing but art," she admitted.

Nhu Thuy's biggest motivation is her family's expectations. "My whole family loves music but no one can follow it, so they put their hopes on me," she shared.

Financially, Nhu Thuy said her life is quite comfortable thanks to reasonable spending. The MV Noi Gio Len only cost 3 million to produce, plus 1-2 million for advertising, the total album of 5 songs is about 10 million VND.

Singer Phan Nhu Thuy has had a love and passion for art since childhood.

At nearly 30 years old, Nhu Thuy is single after her only relationship lasted 5 years. Her criteria for choosing a partner is quite simple: "The important thing is to be happy, have a stable job, and be able to support herself." Her family supports Nhu Thuy's decision to be single, even to be a single mother if she hasn't found the right person.

Being raised in a large family, Nhu Thuy has a positive personality and does not allow herself to be sad for more than 1-2 days. Nhu Thuy's idol is My Tam. What she hopes to learn from her idol is perseverance and being loved more and more over time.
