On the afternoon of November 8, Mr. Huy Vu - son of musician Pham Dang Khuong - told Tuoi Tre Online that musician Pham Dang Khuong was seriously ill and had been taken by his family to Military Hospital 175 (HCMC) for treatment since June 20.

Mr. Huy Vu informed that the musician had pneumonia, severe diabetes and multiple organ failure, requiring a tracheostomy. Currently, musician Pham Dang Khuong is being treated in the emergency room. He cannot speak, is lethargic, and sometimes recognizes acquaintances and sometimes does not.

MC Quynh Hoa - a close friend of musician Pham Dang Khuong - just visited the musician at Military Hospital 175 on November 7.

She was moved when talking about the musician: "In the past, he was healthy, active, constantly researching and learning, composing music, filming, writing books, painting... now he has to stay in one place."

MC Quynh Hoa said she was introduced to the MC profession by musician Pham Dang Khuong, who connected her with hosting programs at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House when she was still a student.

Musician Pham Dang Khuong was also the one who "persuaded" Quynh Hoa to work at the Youth Cultural House and has been there until today.

Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House, Quynh Hoa, said the last time she met musician Pham Dang Khuong was a year ago, at the launching event of the Vietnamese historical art work called Hong Bang Motherland Van Lan , consisting of 50 songs about Vietnamese history, at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House.

Musician Pham Dang Khuong was born in 1957 in Quang Ngai and is loved by many audiences.

He graduated from the Faculty of Theory - Composition - Conducting of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music in 1998.

Pham Dang Khuong attended a songwriting class at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House when he was a student. Later, he became a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union's Young Composition Club.

In 1991, musician Pham Dang Khuong became Head of the Department of Culture and Arts, then Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House until his retirement in 2017.
