In the first half of the year, despite the general difficulties of the economy and the notable wave of branch and staff cuts, the average income of bank employees continued to be maintained at a high level.
Statistics from Dan Tri newspaper reporters from the second quarter 2025 financial reports of banks show that most banks' income paid to employees ranges from 30-50 million VND/person/month, an increase over the same period.
In particular, the leader in terms of remuneration in the first half of this year is the Military Bank (MB). With a total personnel cost of up to 4,121 billion VND (an increase of 18% compared to the same period last year), the average income of employees of the parent bank MB reached more than 54 million VND/month.
In the Big 4 group, VietinBank pays an average income of 46.8 million VND/month to each employee. Meanwhile, Vietcombank, with a total employee cost of 6,369 billion VND, has an average monthly income of 45.5 million VND per person. BIDV's figure is 43.2 million VND/person/month. The lowest is Agribank with an average employee expenditure of 34 million VND/person/month.
Earning over 40 million VND, there are also employees at private banking groups such as Techcombank with 42 million VND/month, ACB with 41 million VND/month, VPBank, VIB andSHB all spending approximately 40 million VND/month.
Notably, in the first half of this year, VPBank added more than VND1,000 billion to the employee expense fund.
