On March 26th, news from Ca Mau General Hospital (Ca Mau province) reported that the hospital had successfully removed a foreign object, a dildo, from the rectum and anus of a male patient.
The medical team at Ca Mau General Hospital removed a dildo from a patient's anus.
Previously, on March 24th, patient LKV (23 years old, from Bien Bach Dong commune, Thoi Binh district) was brought to Ca Mau General Hospital by relatives in a state of excruciating pain in the anal area.
Upon taking the patient's medical history, doctors at the hospital noted that patient V. had previously used a dildo inserted into his anus and was unable to remove it.
After examination, the medical team administered spinal anesthesia and successfully removed the foreign object from the patient using surgical instruments.
According to Dr. Tran Van Phuol, from the General Surgery Department of Ca Mau General Hospital, it is not uncommon for patients to be admitted with foreign objects in their bodies. If not treated promptly, foreign objects in the anus and rectum can lead to intestinal obstruction and even be life-threatening.
Doctors advise against using any instruments inserted into the anal area. If a foreign object is present in the anus, absolutely do not use forceps or insert your fingers to remove it yourself. These actions not only fail to remove the foreign object but also increase the risk of pushing it deeper, causing rectal damage. It is best for patients to quickly go to medical facilities for timely assistance from a specialist.
