Currently, four foreign-born players of the Malaysian national team do not have a club of their own. These players include defender Jon Irazabal (Spanish), right-back Matthew Davies (Australian), midfielder Endrick (Brazil) and striker Romel Morales (Colombia).

Among them, midfielder Endrick plays for Ho Chi Minh City FC in the 2024-2025 V-League. This tournament will end on the afternoon of June 22. The city team currently has no intention of renewing the contract with the Malaysian midfielder.
The next notable thing is that the naturalized players who are unemployed in Malaysian football are not valued low.
Spanish defender Jon Irazabal is valued at 600,000 euros (over 18 billion VND) by global player valuation website Transfermarkt. Right-back Matthew Davies is valued at 450,000 euros (over 13.5 billion VND).

Striker Romel Morales is worth around 350,000 euros (more than 10.5 billion VND) and midfielder Endrick is valued at 250,000 euros (more than 7.5 billion VND) by Transfermarkt.
These players were all named in the Malaysian team that played against Vietnam on June 10 at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). This was a match within the framework of the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
Currently, along with the Indonesian team, Malaysia is the team with the most naturalized players in Southeast Asia. In the list of 23 Malaysian players participating in the match against the Vietnamese team mentioned above, there are up to 14 people born outside this country.
