Many food production, processing and trading establishments in Dong Nai cannot present documents related to food safety.

(DN) - According to the Department of Health, since the beginning of the Food Safety Action Month, the first interdisciplinary inspection team of the province led by the Department of Health has inspected food safety and hygiene at 10 food production, processing and trading establishments in the province. Through the inspection, the team discovered 5 establishments with violations and shortcomings, including one establishment that was forced to temporarily suspend operations.

Specifically, when the inspection team suddenly inspected the VMT business household (Tan Phu town, Tan Phu district), this business household did not have a certificate of food safety eligibility for the type of food service business. The hygiene conditions of the processing area were not guaranteed, the paint on the walls of the house in the preliminary processing area and the kitchen were peeling, the floor was peeling, water was stagnant, and there were no trash cans with lids.

At the time of inspection, the facility had not yet presented a list of food safety training confirmations for the owner and employees; had not yet presented contracts for purchasing raw materials with suppliers, did not have a 3-step food inspection book, a food sample storage book, or health certificates for 2 employees involved in food processing.

With the above violations, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team requested the facility to temporarily suspend the processing and sale of meat-filled sandwiches from 10:00 a.m. on April 22 until it fully corrects the requirements of the inspection team. The team also requested the locality to coordinate with relevant agencies to monitor the temporary suspension of processing and business activities of the facility. At the same time, the inspection record and related documents were transferred to the Steering Committee for All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life in Tan Phu District to continue verifying, handling and monitoring the facility's correction according to regulations.

In Trang Bom district, when checking PD restaurant (Ho Nai 3 commune, Trang Bom district), the establishment was unable to present relevant legal documents such as: business registration certificate, certificate of food safety eligibility, health certificate and certificate of food safety training of the owner and employees; and was unable to present contracts and invoices for purchasing input food ingredients.

The hygiene conditions of the processing area of ​​this restaurant are also not guaranteed. The walls of the preparation area, the kitchen, and the floor are peeling, water is stagnant, and there are no trash cans with lids. The delegation has made a record and requested the restaurant to repair and repaint the walls of the kitchen area and the floor that are peeling, water is stagnant; and to equip trash cans with lids in the preparation, processing, and business areas. At the same time, the establishment is required to present documents related to food safety and hygiene conditions to the Trang Bom District Health Department for handling according to regulations.
