These are all remote, purely agricultural districts, embarking on building advanced NTM with many difficulties and challenges, but all have achieved advanced NTM standards with many impressive results.

Two more districts are assessed to have met advanced new rural standards.

Vinh Cuu District, a former war zone, suffered heavy devastation from the war with many poor communes and barren land when it started building a new rural area. In 2017, Vinh Cuu was recognized as meeting the standards of a new rural district. To date, all 9/9 communes of Vinh Cuu District have met the standards of a new rural area according to the National Criteria for New Rural Areas in the 2021-2025 period and the New Rural Area Criteria of Dong Nai Province by 2025. Seven out of nine communes have met the standards of an advanced new rural area.

Since the beginning of 2025, the province has had 8 more communes recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards. To date, the province has had 114/116 communes meeting advanced NTM standards.

The district has achieved 9/9 criteria and 38/38 targets of the National Criteria for Advanced New Rural Districts in the 2021-2025 period. The outstanding result is that the system of technical infrastructure and social infrastructure in the district is basically complete, meeting the needs of socio -economic development and people's livelihood activities. The district has 43 public educational institutions from preschool to high school, of which 42/43 schools meet national standards.

Chairman of Vinh Cuu District People's Committee Nguyen Quang Phuong said that the district focuses on building advanced new rural areas and pays great attention to taking care of people's lives in the area. In particular, the number of households using clean water from centralized water supply works accounts for 76.9%, which is a great effort of the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Cuu District. The average income per capita by the end of 2024 will reach 89 million VND. The district has determined that in the coming time, it will continue to implement programs on bright, green, clean, beautiful and environmental criteria.

In the same year 2017, Cam My district achieved the standard of a new rural district. Promoting the achievements, this remote district continues to invest all resources in building an advanced new rural area. Up to now, the district has 12/12 communes recognized as meeting the advanced new rural area standards, 4 model new rural area communes, and Long Giao town meeting the civilized urban standards. The satisfaction rate of people in the district with the results of building the district's advanced new rural area reached 99.9%. The average income per capita of the district is 83 million VND; the average value of cultivation and aquaculture reaches 190 million VND/hectare/year; the district has no poor households and near-poor households in multidimensional aspects according to the Central multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022-2025.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Council for Appraisal, Review and Recognition of Localities that Meet New Rural, Advanced New Rural and Model New Rural Standards of Dong Nai Province NGUYEN THI HOANG, in the coming time, the province will no longer have district-level units, communes will be merged but will continue to overcome limitations to further improve the criteria for advanced New Rural and Model New Rural. In particular, localities will continue to implement bright, green, clean, beautiful roads, model residential areas, and complete environmental criteria.

Many communes reach the advanced new rural finish line

Since the beginning of the year, 8 communes have been recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards, including: Song Trau, Bac Son, Hung Thinh (Trang Bom district); Phu Thinh, Dak Lua, Nam Cat Tien (Tan Phu district); Thanh Phu (Vinh Cuu district); Bau Can (Long Thanh district). This result contributes to the province's overall achievements in building advanced NTM. The whole province has 114/116 advanced NTM communes, nearly reaching 100% of the target set for the entire 2021-2025 period.

The most impressive results were achieved in the remote communes of Tan Phu mountainous district, including Phu Thinh, Dak Lua, and Nam Cat Tien. Dak Lua is one of the most remote mountainous communes of Dong Nai province, considered the "flood center" of Tan Phu district. Previously, traveling from the district center and other communes to Dak Lua commune was very difficult due to having to cross the ferry, which significantly affected the socio-economic development and the lives of people in the commune. Thanks to the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the rural appearance of the commune has been significantly improved. Village roads and alleys have been concreted, and houses are spacious, contributing to bringing a new look to the commune.

In particular, the development of agricultural production in this locality has many improvements. In particular, growing mulberry and raising silkworms is one of the main occupations, bringing high economic efficiency to the locality. The commune has formed a large-scale specialized area for growing mulberry and raising silkworms with more than 250 hectares and the participation of about 300 households growing mulberry and raising silkworms.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Dong, Director of Duy Dong Mulberry and Silk Cooperative, the cooperative has invested in a silk production workshop with a modern, automatic machinery system to produce silk in large quantities and with high quality. Thanks to that, the silk production workshop consumes all local silk sources at good, stable prices. In addition, the cooperative is creating regular jobs for 40 local workers.

As a commune in the district with strong development in industry and services, Hung Thinh (Trang Bom district) has the advantage of attracting businesses and people to invest in agriculture and rural areas. In 2014, Hung Thinh commune achieved the NTM standard and is currently reaching the advanced NTM finish line. The commune has attracted many resources to develop production and increase people's income. Typically, Tam Tam An Pharmaceutical Company Limited invested in processing products from the medicinal herb xao tam phan, developing raw material production areas according to the chain. The health protection food products of this enterprise have been recognized as 4-star OCOP products (One Commune One Product Program). To date, Hung Thinh commune no longer has poor households or multidimensional near-poor households according to the Central's standards; the average income per capita in 2024 reached more than 88.7 million VND.
