Ms. H'Nhin shared her feelings after taking the exam.

From the gate of Nguyen Du Secondary School (Pleiku City, Gia Lai), Ms. Ksor H'Nhin (born in 1982, Jrai ethnic group, residing in Dat Bang commune, Krong Pa district) walked out in a rather moody mood. She shared that she studied at the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Krong Pa district. Therefore, she did not do well with the knowledge in the exam subjects on the first day.

After more than 20 years as a preschool teacher, in 2024 she failed the high school graduation exam, and this time she is determined to pass. However, she shared that she has studied quite a lot but the curriculum is very different, so taking the exam has many difficulties.

“In the past, I studied in the 9+3 system. After that, I registered for intermediate and college courses via distance learning. However, to standardize the degrees, for many years now, I and some teachers in the school have registered for supplementary classes. Last year, I and a few others took the high school graduation exam but failed,” said Ms. H’Nhin.

For the 2025 high school graduation exam, Ms. H'Nhin registered to take 3 subjects (Literature, History and Geography), taking the exam at Nguyen Du Secondary School, Pleiku City. Because the exam site is 150km from home, she and many other teachers went to Pleiku to rent a room early to have time to review and prepare best for the exams.

Ms. Koă (right) was feeling anxious after leaving the exam room.

Being a friend of Ms. H'Nhin, Ms. Kpa Koă (born in 1986) is also a preschool teacher in Dat Bang commune, Krong Pa district. This is the first time taking the high school graduation exam, so Ms. Koă feels quite pressured. She is determined to study again to supplement the recruitment conditions if she has the opportunity in the future. "Because I am old and have to take 4 subjects at the same time, studying is very stressful. I often take advantage of the evening to review. Of the four subjects: Math, Literature, History, and Geography, Math is the subject that makes me struggle the most because there are too many formulas and numbers, it is very difficult to absorb," Ms. Koă confided.

To prepare for the exam, she took a week off to focus on reviewing and consolidating her knowledge. She confided that she had encountered many difficulties in the two subjects of today's exam because the curriculum was much different from the past. She had to ensure teaching in class and taking advantage of studying on the weekends, so she did not have time to review.

Mr. Ri shared about his plans if he passes the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Mr. Kpa Ri (born in 1995, residing in Bon Dlai Bau village, Ia Kdam commune, Ia Pa) is a veteran cadre of the village. Coming here from Ia Pa district, nearly 100km away, Mr. Ri and a few others rented a small room to study for the exam. Mr. Ri is determined to get a degree to prepare for the local civil servant recruitment. "I don't need a high score, just enough to complete this important exam, the whole family will be happy," Mr. Ri said happily.

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Gia Lai has 16,206 candidates eligible to take the exam (including more than 15,500 candidates studying in grade 12 and 704 independent candidates), an increase of 968 candidates compared to 2024. In particular, this year's exam has many new points when, for the first time, it is organized for students studying the 2018 General Education Program and the 2006 General Education Program to take the exam together.

For this exam, the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province mobilized 4,500 administrators, teachers, staff and workers to participate in the organization of the exam. For the exam invigilators, the whole province mobilized 1,835 teachers, including 1,642 high school teachers and 193 middle school teachers.

In addition, the Department has also proactively calculated backup plans for more than 100 secondary school teachers in case of need for replacement or supplement, ready to participate in exam supervision when mobilized; coordinated with the Provincial Police to mobilize more than 320 officers and soldiers; coordinated with the Department of Health to mobilize 44 doctors and nurses to work in the examination council's committees.
