It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the whole province will have 242 cooperatives, of which 212 are operating and 2 Cooperative Unions. In recent times, a number of cooperatives in the province have improved their organization, management, developed additional occupations, and acted as focal points for receiving technical transfer programs and capital sources to directly serve household economy , farm economy, and crop restructuring. In addition, a number of cooperatives have boldly mobilized capital, equipped with additional fixed assets, and promoted production and business more effectively. In addition, propaganda, consulting and mobilization work to establish new cooperatives have been carried out with interest by all levels and sectors. Thereby, in 5 years, 67 new cooperatives were established, reaching 134% of the plan, and 23 cooperatives were dissolved, reaching 57.5% of the plan; promptly grasp the difficulties and problems of economic organizations and direct relevant levels and sectors to coordinate to remove, support and strengthen the operational capacity of the economic sector in the province.
Not only that, training and capacity building for the KTTT sector has been increasingly focused on in accordance with the practical needs of cooperatives in the province. In 5 years, the Provincial People's Committee has organized 28 training courses to improve the capacity of managers and employees of cooperatives; 12 conferences and seminars on solutions to improve the operational efficiency of cooperatives; conferences to promote market development and geographical indication brand " Binh Thuan " for dragon fruit and geographical indication "Phan Thiet" for fish sauce products...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao - Chairwoman of the Cooperative Union said that in the past time, the provincial Cooperative Union and other sectors and localities have organized for more than 80 cooperatives to participate in 40 trade promotion fairs, forums, programs, conferences connecting supply and demand, introducing products and goods in provinces and cities across the country with a budget of more than 2.5 billion VND. Thereby, a number of cooperatives have connected to trade, expanded product consumption markets, sought partners and distributors for domestic cooperation. The Cooperative Union also organized 3 conferences to connect and introduce products and goods of cooperatives in the Southern region and the Central Highlands. Thanks to that, a number of cooperatives have connected with businesses and cooperatives inside and outside the province to exchange and sell products for members.
Support trade promotion and product processing
The Industry and Trade sector also supported 18 cooperatives with OCOP products of the province, typical rural industrial products and typical products of the province to participate in the Project "Electronic traceability solution for OCOP products of Binh Thuan, typical rural industrial products and typical strengths of Binh Thuan province". Support cooperatives to participate in online booths on the website ketnoicungcau.vn, connect with distributors, shopping centers and e-commerce platforms (Alibaba, Lazada); Support to put the list of 20 cooperatives of the province on the Binh Thuan e-commerce platform. Organize cooperatives to participate in the Fairs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural, mountainous and island areas in the period of 2021 - 2025. Thereby, supported and connected 1 cooperative to sign a rice distribution agency contract in Phu Quy district.
In particular, Hoa Le Clean Dragon Fruit Cooperative was also supported to participate in the provincial trade delegation to participate in the Asia Fruit Logistic Fair held in Thailand and Binh Thuan Sustainable Production and Consumption Ecosystem Cooperative participated in the 23rd Vietnam - China International Trade Fair ( Lao Cai ), combined with a survey of border gates and agricultural markets in the Northern border. Sen Nui Cooperative was supported to build and operate an OCOP product display point in Dong Ha commune with a budget of 750 million VND. In addition, the whole province also has 11 cooperatives supported to invest in infrastructure with a total budget of more than 14.7 billion VND; 10 cooperatives were supported by the Provincial Cooperative Union to access capital from the National Employment Fund entrusted by the Vietnam Cooperative Union with a total capital of 1.95 billion VND...
In order for the KTTT sector to develop sustainably in the period of 2026 - 2030, contributing to the development of the local socio-economy, it is necessary to focus on supporting the improvement of the quality and efficiency of agricultural cooperatives to effectively perform their role as organizations for farmers to produce agricultural products and goods on a large scale, connecting with businesses. Develop diverse types of cooperatives, build new cooperative models associated with the development of value chains of key products and goods, with competitiveness; improve the quality and efficiency of production and business activities in accordance with local climate and soil conditions. Attract more farmers and households to participate in KTTT and cooperatives. Thereby, improving the income and quality of life of cooperative members, contributing to social stability and sustainable development.
