Many excellent works won the 8th "Young Francophone Reporter" award

The Organizing Committee awarded first prize to contestant Nguyen Duc Minh Hoang.

With the theme “French language and culture of sharing”, the “Young Francophone Reporters 2023” contest is a playground for young French-speaking people in Vietnam and around the world to share and discuss cultural diversity, one of the top priorities of the Francophone Community. The contest also helps contestants demonstrate their efforts and initiatives through French writing skills, thereby conveying the vitality of this language.

After a month of launching, the contest has received the attention, response and active participation of many contestants. The Organizing Committee received 118 entries from 174 contestants from all regions of the country. The 20 contestants and groups of contestants with the best entries have entered the final round. These articles have been published on the electronic newspaper lecourrier.vn for readers to vote. With the sponsorship of the Asia- Pacific Regional Office (REPAP), these works have also been printed in the special issue of Le Courrier du Vietnam in pocket book format.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy General Director of Vietnam News Agency Doan Thi Tuyet Nhung said that the annual “Young Francophone Reporters” contest is one of the effective forms of foreign propaganda that Le Courrier newspaper strives to maintain and promote in order to promote the image of the country, the people of Vietnam, the cultural values as well as opportunities and potential for cooperation of Vietnam in the Francophone community and international friends. Through the entries, the authors, with their linguistic talent, conveyed the message of the contest. The passion and love of French of the young people contributed to the success of the contest.

According to Mr. Pierre Du Ville, Head of the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation in Vietnam, President of the Group of Francophone Embassies, Delegations and Organizations in Vietnam (GADIF), through the contest, he felt the pride of the authors when writing about the origin, history, culture, architectural heritage, cuisine , costumes and the protection of the quintessence, things that will certainly attract tour guides. "The noble mission of every reporter is to provide accurate information to readers, at the same time contribute to expanding knowledge and bringing readers a pleasant time", the President of GADIF emphasized.

The Organizing Committee awarded 1 First Prize to contestant Nguyen Duc Minh Hoang with the work "Ton Nu Anh Tuyet - "Fairy" of Hue, with a heart full of love for culture and human values"; 1 Second Prize to author Hoang Van Linh with the work "The story of French culinary cultural exchange in a 37-year-old restaurant in Hanoi"; 1 Third Prize to the group of authors Chung Gia Han and Nguyen Thanh Sang with the work "Discovering the cultural beauty of Vietnam and Thailand". In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 Encouragement Prizes, the prizes "Readers' Choice", "Impressive Contestant", "Dynamic Contestant", "Talented Student", and the prizes of the Embassy of Morocco, Romania and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH).
