According to the announced admission information, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture uses 1 drawing aptitude subject (color decorative drawing or fine art drawing) to consider candidates for the following majors: architecture, regional and urban planning, landscape architecture, interior design, urban fine arts, industrial design, graphic design, fashion design, urban design. According to the regulations of this school, candidates with an aptitude subject score organized by the school in 2023 of 5 points or higher will be considered for admission to the above majors. Therefore, regardless of the method, candidates need to take this separate exam to be considered for admission to the above majors.

At this point, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture has ended the time to receive registration documents for this year's exam. According to Master Vo Van Tuan, acting Head of the school's Training Department, the aptitude test for decorative color drawing and fine art drawing will take place on June 3-4. This year, over 5,000 students registered to take the exam at the school, more than in previous years. "Currently, the school has stopped accepting registrations according to the announced time to make a list of exam rooms and registration numbers for students. However, there are still dozens of late registrations. The school can only handle cases of students who have registered but made mistakes, and the school cannot handle new registrations after this time," said Master Tuan.

"The school is expected to announce the early admission results in June, the school will only consider these methods once this year," Master Tuan added.

This weekend, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education will organize a specialized competency assessment exam. The results of this exam, combined with high school grades, will be used to consider admission for 30% of the enrollment quota for more than 20 training programs of this university this year. The first round of this exam will take place from May 26-28, attracting more than 2,500 candidates to participate (not including more than 1,800 candidates who have registered for the second round). Master Nguyen Ngoc Trung, Vice Principal of this school, said: "According to the plan, the school has finished accepting registrations for both rounds. However, after closing the registration portal, the school still accepts candidates who want to take the exam but have not yet registered. Therefore, the school decided to extend the registration period until May 31 for candidates to register for the second round of the exam."

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Assessment of Training Quality (Ho Chi Minh City National University), also said that the second round of the competency assessment exam will take place this weekend (May 28). Currently, 44,102 candidates have registered for this round of the exam and the examination council has completed the list of exam rooms, so candidates are not allowed to register for more. However, candidates who have registered can have their registration adjusted if errors are discovered.

Candidates learn about early admission methods

Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Vice Principal of the school, said that the number of candidates applying for admission is the same as last year and the expected admission scores will be announced on June 20. Candidates who are eligible for admission need to re-register their wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's system in July to be officially considered for admission to the school. Thus, candidates who want to apply for admission to the school after this time can only use the method of consideration based on the 2023 high school graduation exam scores.

Many other universities also plan to end the early admission registration period and announce the results in June. However, the early admission situation at many universities shows that the number of students registering for early admission has decreased sharply compared to the same period last year. Dr. Huynh The Nguyen, Head of Training Department of the University of Finance and Marketing, said that the number of students applying for early admission at the university is not much, only reaching about 70% compared to last year.

Although the deadline for admission registration has been extended by more than a month, the online registration portal of Ho Chi Minh City National University with the method of considering the scores of the competency assessment exam still recorded a sharp decrease in the number of registered candidates compared to last year. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said: "Currently, the admission registration system of Ho Chi Minh City National University has only recorded about 150,000 wishes. The overall situation recorded is only about 40-60% compared to last year".

Commenting on this situation, Dr. Chinh said that perhaps the candidates do not fully understand the admission regulations this year. Although there are changes in the way of registering their wishes on the general system of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates applying for early admission still need to register for admission at schools. Only candidates who are eligible for early admission can register for these methods on the system of the Ministry. In particular, using the scores of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam to apply for admission to schools is an early method (except for the comprehensive admission method of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology).

"This year, TS is waiting for something, but if they don't register, they will lose their admission rights," Mr. Chinh warned.

TS admissions deadlines to remember

According to the Ministry of Education and Training's guidelines for university and college admissions in preschool education in 2023, all universities will update the list of candidates eligible for early admission to the Ministry of Education and Training's general admission support system before 5:00 p.m. on July 8.

All early admitted candidates will be notified of the admission results by the training institution and posted on the system so that candidates can proactively choose the order of their admission application.

After the early admission period, from July 10 to 5:00 p.m. on July 30, candidates can register, adjust and supplement their admission wishes an unlimited number of times online on the ministry's system or the National Public Service Portal.

From July 31 to 5:00 p.m. August 6, candidates pay the admission fee according to the number of admission wishes online.

Before August 17, 20, schools will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review the results and prepare to announce the first round of admission results.

Before 5:00 p.m. on September 6, all admitted candidates must complete the first round of online admission confirmation on this system.
