The film is being filmed in Germany and Poland. The editing process began a week after coach Mai Duc Chung and his team finished their journey at the 2023 Women's World Cup.
The 45-minute film is scheduled to be released on Vietnamese Women's Day, October 20.
Sharing at the launch ceremony, VFF Vice President in charge of communications, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu said that this is a film about the efforts and resilience of Vietnamese women.
"The film project will portray the resilient image of Vietnamese women in sports in particular and life in general.
I hope that through this film project, women's football will receive more attention and care in the future. VFF will also invest more in the next generation," said Mr. Vu.
This is the first documentary about the Vietnamese women's team.
This film project of VFF not only simply depicts the journey of the girls in red shirts to win their first World Cup ticket, but also shows their unity as a family and together reaching the dream of Vietnamese women's football.
Further is the story of the rise of individuals, the efforts and sacrifices of a special group.
It is known that VFF wants to use the documentary format to bring the audience a closer, more subtle perspective of the Vietnamese women's team instead of a reportage perspective.
This film project is directed by Ms. Nguyen Thi Tham. The entire crew will follow the girls in red on their journey before, during and after the 2023 World Cup to better understand the players.
Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are currently training in Germany to prepare for the biggest women's football festival on the planet.
At this tournament, Huynh Nhu and her teammates are in group E with the Netherlands, the US and Portugal.
