On April 20, activities at the book fair within the framework of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2024 took place bustlingly.
On weekends, many young people and families bring their children to Van Lake (Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam relic site) to buy books and experience cultural activities.
As the manager of the People's Army Publishing House's booth, Mr. Nguyen Duy Huan shared: "Today the atmosphere here is very exciting, people come here with a happy spirit. This year's book fair attracts many young people, which is a good sign, showing that the reading culture has spread to the future generations of the country."
Sharing with Lao Dong, Ms. Hoang Mai (34 years old, Hanoi ) expressed her excitement when coming to the book fair. Ms. Hoang Mai believes that book fairs will create conditions for readers to access their favorite books at affordable prices. As a book lover since childhood, she spent half a day at the book fair and bought her favorite works.
"I found the venue at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam very beautiful. I also attended the book launch ceremony "Vietnamese Tea Civilization" by Mr. Trinh Quang Dung and was very excited about this year's activities," said Ms. Hoang Mai.
The book fair grounds attract people of all ages, including foreign visitors who come to see Dong Ho paintings and the traditional art of tea drinking.
The book festivals that have been, are being, and will be held will truly honor reading culture and will arouse people's passion and interest in reading, especially young people.
The messages "Good books need readers"; "Precious books for friends"; "Give good books - Buy real books"; "Good books: Eyes to read - Ears to listen" are associated with digital transformation, with the goal of bringing books to readers. Not only honoring those who write and make books, the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day aims to revive the reading culture, promoting the love of books among Vietnamese people.
Not only providing a variety of books and attractive promotions, the book fair also organizes many unique interactive activities such as: folk painting, art performances, tea tasting, new book launches, Dong Ho painting exhibitions...
