Overview of IELTS on computer
Similar to the paper-based IELTS test, the computer-based IELTS test is marked by highly qualified examiners, and the IELTS test structure retains the same content and time. You can be completely assured of the fairness and transparency of the marking process.
Depending on the candidate's preferences and goals, the computer-delivered IELTS test offers two options: Academic (IELTS Academic) for those who want to study abroad in English-speaking countries and General (IELTS General Training) for those who want to settle or work abroad.
Benefits of choosing IELTS test on computer
Flexible and convenient exam schedule
One of the benefits of taking IELTS on computer is the variety of test times. Whether you are working full-time or a student, you can find a time slot that fits your schedule.
For those who need IELTS results urgently to complete their study abroad application or job application, IELTS on computer will help you save a significant amount of time thanks to the flexible IELTS test schedule held throughout the week at many different times of the day.
Quick action saves time
Taking IELTS on a computer has the advantage of speed as you can select answers directly on the screen. This helps you save time and reduce pressure in the Writing section. According to IDP experts, the intuitive interface of the computer helps you easily switch between test sections and control your time better.
Easy editing of content will save time and increase efficiency.
Comfortable and convenient in editing article content
Another benefit of the computer-based test is the ease of editing. You can quickly delete, add or edit content without worrying about making mistakes while writing by hand. This is especially useful in the Writing section, where you need to express your ideas clearly and logically.
Easily use shortcuts when doing exercises
The computer-based IELTS test format provides candidates with a number of powerful support tools to help them complete the test quickly and effectively. With the Listening and Reading sections of the computer-based IELTS test, the highlight function helps you take notes of important keywords and check your answers more intuitively.
Fast result return time
Taking the IELTS test on a computer not only saves you time but also shortens the waiting time for results. Normally, candidates will receive their results within 2 working days and they can go to the center to get their results on the same day.
Improve your score with One Skill Retake
IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) is a feature that allows candidates to retake a single skill – Listening, Speaking, Reading, or Writing – if they do not achieve the desired score on the first attempt, instead of having to retake the entire test as before. Candidates can register to retake the test within 60 days of receiving the results of the first attempt.
- If you don't get the score you want, retaking a skill is faster and more cost-effective than retaking the entire test.
- The structure of the One Skill Retake test is similar to the structure of the standard IELTS test.
- Candidates will receive a new IELTS Test Report Form, which includes the scores for the three skills from the first test and the new score for the skill retaken in the IELTS One Skill Retake Test. Depending on the score, candidates can choose to use the old or the new Score Report Form for the skill they retaken.
For those who have good computer skills, value concentration and want to receive test results early, the IELTS test on computer is perfect for you.
