The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will take place from June 15 to July 14 in 12 cities across the United States.

Tuoi Tre Online sends readers the names expected to shine at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Lionel Messi (Inter Miami)

The Argentine superstar will of course be the most watched player in the upcoming tournament. The owner of eight Ballon d'Or awards is expected to be in top form and lead Inter Miami to a deep run in their first participation.

Messi has made 25 appearances, scoring 23 goals and providing 13 assists, helping the team win the MLS Supporters' Shield in 2024. In the ongoing MLS season, he has made 20 appearances and scored 15 goals.

Lionel Messi will turn 38 during the Club World Cup, but the Argentine legend is still at his usual level. It's a shame for football fans around the world that they won't be able to see Messi face off against Ronaldo in this tournament.

Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid)

French striker Mbappe joined Real Madrid in the 2024 season and showed a promising future, finishing the season as La Liga's top scorer with 31 goals.

After 56 appearances in the 2024-2025 season, he scored 43 goals, becoming Real Madrid's top scorer in a debut season. He surpassed Ivan Zamorano (37 goals in the 1992-1993 season) and Cristiano Ronaldo (33 goals in the 2009-2010 season).

Erling Haaland (Man City)

Man City had an unsuccessful season when they only finished 3rd in the Premier League and were eliminated early in the Champions League. This achievement also partly came from Haaland's poor performance.

He has scored a total of 31 goals this season. The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is a “lifesaver” to help him regain his true form.

The Norwegian striker is aiming to win his first FIFA Club World Cup title with Man City, having missed their 2023 triumph through injury.

Ousmane Dembele (PSG)

The reigning Champions League champion is having the most successful season of his career. Dembele has been a key factor in helping PSG lift the European title, while also dominating the domestic league with 3 titles: League 1, French Cup and French Super Cup.

Dembele was also named Ligue 1 Player of the Year. With eight goals in the Champions League, Dembele has also had an impressive season in Europe. He is on the verge of winning his first Ballon d'Or. If he plays well with PSG at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, he will be one step closer to the Ballon d'Or.

Estevao (Palmeiras)

Estevao is a rising star in Brazilian football. He was Palmeiras' most impressive player in 2024 with 13 goals and 9 assists, helping the club finish second in the Brazilian Serie A.

The 18-year-old winger known for his dribbling ability and speed will join Chelsea in the 2025-2026 season in a deal worth around €50 million.

Having emerged as one of the brightest talents in South America, Estevao will represent Palmeiras for the final time at the FIFA Club World Cup, having insisted on including a clause in his deal with Chelsea to ensure he plays in the tournament before heading to Stamford Bridge.

Mitrovic (Al Hilal)

Mitrovic is expected to be the explosive force to carry the Saudi Pro League representative's attack in the upcoming tournament.

Al Hilal spent around £60m to sign Mitrovic from Fulham in 2023. He finished the season with 19 goals, but only made 23 appearances, so his performance was better than other prominent strikers such as Karim Benzema, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ivan Toney.

The Serbian striker has scored 68 goals in 79 games in all competitions since signing for Al Hilal.
