Reasons why post-secondary education is difficult

As a unit that conducts training for teachers in charge of organizing experiential and career guidance activities in high schools, a representative of the Psychology Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education said that teachers from fields other than psychology often have difficulty in absorbing and applying basic concepts of psychology. In addition, some teachers participate in counseling and career guidance training courses only because of assignments from the unit, not because of personal passion. These things can seriously affect the quality of career guidance for students.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, requested the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to create conditions for vocational schools to access and participate equally in the process of organizing career counseling. In addition, ensuring the quality of consulting teachers, vocational teachers must have advanced methods suitable to the trend. Vocational schools must be able to connect with businesses, the labor market, etc.
