For students of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, recess and extracurricular activities are the time they spend on club activities to relax and practice life skills. One of the clubs that attracts attention is the Shine Club, where students who love art interact, learn and show off their talents.

Nguyen Dinh Duc Manh, head of Shine Club, said: “The club was established 4 years ago and currently has 71 members, divided into 5 groups: dance, acoustic, media and foreign finance. Extracurricular activities at Shine Club not only help members satisfy their passion for art but also help us learn how to work in groups, practice soft skills and improve communication skills.”
It is known that in the recent provincial excellent student competition for grades 10 and 11, 90% of Shine Club members participated and won many high prizes, including 4 first prizes. Previously, in the national excellent student competition for grade 12, 1 student won second prize and 1 student won consolation prize.

Nguyen Hoang Ha Linh (11th grade Literature, Shine Club member) shared: “In the past, although I loved singing, I was worried that it would affect my studies, so I rarely participated in extracurricular activities. However, I changed my mind when I joined Shine. Joining the club, I not only freely expressed my passion for singing, but also made more friends with the same interests, and learned more knowledge and soft skills.”

Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted currently has 12 skill clubs with the participation of hundreds of students. Each club offers a different playground, typically: New Steam Media Club, "Touch" Club (volunteer), Bone Club (reading culture), Colympus Club... The clubs are not only places for students to interact and entertain, but also an environment for them to promote their abilities, strengths, develop life skills and become more confident in communication. At the same time, they help students adapt quickly to modern society, building the image of dynamic and integrated citizens.
Ms. Truong Thi Nhat Anh - Secretary of the Youth Union of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, said: “We realize that in the context of global integration, students not only need knowledge but also soft skills. Therefore, the Youth Union has consulted with the Board of Directors to encourage the establishment of clubs, and at the same time accompany students in monitoring, guiding, and creating conditions to support the clubs to operate effectively. Thereby, turning clubs into useful playgrounds for each student to develop their strengths, express their passions, and perfect their skills, in parallel with studying during regular school hours”.

Not only high schools in the city, many schools in rural areas such as Mai Thuc Loan High School, Nguyen Van Troi High School (Thach Ha), Cam Binh High School (Ha Tinh City), Huong Son High School... also pay special attention to building clubs to train skills for students. The clubs have helped students have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and passions, as well as develop necessary skills in life. In particular, many students and groups of students have participated in meaningful social activities, regional and national competitions and achieved many achievements.
Typically, a group of students from the Media Club of Mai Thuc Loan High School (Thach Ha) has just won the excellent prize in the contest "Youth communication initiatives to promote safe migration and prevent and combat human trafficking" - season 2, jointly organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam (United Nations Migration Agency) and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Through the "Migration Ambassador" initiative, the group of friends from the Media Club of Mai Thuc Loan High School not only demonstrated their capacity and skills in building a well-organized and systematic communication project, but also realized it into an effective propaganda series on the issue of safe migration to more than 1,400 students in the school and the community on social networking platforms.
Phan Thi Phuong Tram (student of class 12A6) - Media Club of Mai Thuc Loan High School said: "When I and my friends in the group were invited by the organizing committee to Hanoi to train and implement ideas at the Office of the UN Coordinator in Vietnam (Hanoi), I felt that the role of the Club is very meaningful. Because, by joining the Club, we are equipped with a foundation of skills such as teamwork, coming up with ideas, building media scripts, organizing events... Therefore, when working with seniors, friends who are students and pupils from all over the country, we quickly integrate with a confident mindset".

In addition to the Media Club, Mai Thuc Loan High School also has 11 clubs in many fields such as art, sports , volunteering, English... attracting hundreds of students to participate. Each club is a playground to help students practice, express their passion, and explore their strengths. Thereby, contributing to perfecting life skills, integrating with the general trend of the global young generation.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Thach, Principal of Mai Thuc Loan High School, said: “In addition to improving the quality of teaching, we always create conditions for students to have the opportunity to develop their personal skills outside of regular school hours. Establishing clubs is not only an environment for students to express their talents and passions, but also helps them practice soft skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving, which are very important in the comprehensive development of students. This is also a way to create a friendly and positive learning environment, helping students better prepare for the future with the necessary qualities to integrate and become global citizens in the future.”

Developing clubs in high schools in the province not only helps students practice necessary skills but also brings valuable experiences, helping them become more confident in their studies and life. This is an important part in the process of forming a generation of students who are not only good at knowledge but also have the qualities of global citizens, ready to adapt and contribute to the development of society in the future.
