After the floodwaters receded, thousands of households in the eastern part of Dak Lak province faced a shortage of clean water (the water plant cut off water); household appliances and electrical equipment were damaged in large numbers.
Faced with this situation, the Central Vietnam College of Industry and Trade (MITC) promptly implemented many practical support activities, becoming a reliable support for the community in difficult times. Teachers and students of the Central Vietnam College of Industry and Trade (MITC) turned the school campus into a water station and repair shop to serve the people.

Free clean water and electrical equipment repair station
Faced with the prolonged local water shortage in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen and Binh Kien wards, since November 21, MITC has activated a free domestic water supply point at facility 2 (No. 01 Nguyen Huu Tho, Tuy Hoa ward). The water supply point operates continuously every day of the week (Morning: 7:30 - 11:00; Afternoon: 13:30 - 17:30) to ensure that local residents, civil servants and students have enough water for daily life, hygiene, and to prevent diseases arising after flooding. Mr. Dinh Van Nai (Tuy Hoa ward), after 3 days of being submerged in floodwaters, the floodwaters receded, the tap water was cut off again, upon hearing the news of a free clean water station, he quickly rode his motorbike to carry barrels of clean water home to cook.
At the same time, the issue of electrical safety and electrical equipment and appliances being damaged by prolonged immersion in floodwaters. Promoting the strength of technical training, the school has directed the Faculty of Electricity and Electronics to open a "repair station", receiving and repairing free of charge household appliances (refrigerators, pumps, fans, televisions...) of people in flooded areas. The repair station is located at the Electromechanical workshop (facility 1, Nguyen Trung Truc street).

After the flood, the water was half way up to the roof of the house, so all the electrical appliances were submerged in water and damaged. Knowing that there was a free electrical repair station, every day hundreds of people brought their electrical appliances to the teachers and students of electrical engineering to help repair them. Not only people in Tuy Hoa ward, Binh Kien, but also people from far away like Mr. Le Trong Tay, Long Phung village, Phu Hoa 2 commune, heard the news and also brought their electrical appliances to help repair them.
Not only opening a repair station at the school, MITC's rapid response teams also directly go to the area, supporting people to check and fix the lighting system and repair machines at home, helping people to soon stabilize their lives.
Join hands to support people in flood-affected areas
In the days after the flood, the Provincial Party Committee headquarters (base 2 - 02 Nguyen Huu Tho) became the center for receiving and gathering relief goods from units, organizations and individuals to send to people in flooded areas. MITC sent students, union members and youth volunteers to participate in transporting and arranging hundreds of tons of goods, contributing to bringing gift bags to people in flooded areas as quickly as possible.

At the same time, the school's Trade Union also organized a working group to go directly to Hoa Thinh commune, one of the localities heavily affected, to hand out meaningful gifts and share the immediate difficulties with people in the flood-affected areas.
Not only providing direct support to the people, MITC is also a resting place for rescue forces. The school's second campus welcomed 106 officers and soldiers from the professional departments of Dong Nai Provincial Police to support the flood-hit areas in the East of Dak Lak.
Ms. Do Thi Thanh Lan, Vice President of MITC Union shared: We want to contribute our part through clean water stations and free electrical repair stations to help people in flooded areas stabilize their lives soon; the gifts help people ease their difficulties after the flood. MITC is always ready to accompany the community in support activities when natural disasters occur.
The practical and timely actions of the Central College of Industry and Trade not only help people reduce their material burden but also spread the warmth of humanity and sharing in times of trouble.
