Ninh Binh makes a breakthrough in attracting investment in automobile support industry

In the cheerful atmosphere of a sunny May morning, at Van Phong Industrial Park, Nho Quan District, the groundbreaking ceremony of the factory producing auto parts, electronic components, and semiconductor equipment of BEI KE YUAN Co., Ltd. (BKY) - an investor from Taiwan - took place in the presence of dozens of international investors and leaders of Ninh Binh province. This is not only a formal groundbreaking ceremony, but also a vivid demonstration of a new chapter in the province's industrial development strategy: promoting supporting industries related to automobile manufacturing and assembly, making Ninh Binh a strategic destination on the FDI map of Vietnam.

Commitment is not just for talk

At a meeting with nearly 30 investors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore, Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc emphasized a strong message: "We do not just talk. We are committed to accompanying, removing difficulties, and creating the most favorable conditions for the projects to succeed."

That message not only heated up the conference, but also hit the interest of the business community. In the context of global FDI capital flows shifting strongly, Vietnam becoming an attractive destination thanks to its advantages of political stability and reasonable labor costs, Ninh Binh also does not want to be left out of the game. However, the province has chosen a different direction: instead of spreading out, focusing on the spearhead of the automobile support industry - a field with high added value, with the ability to spread strongly to other industries.

Looking back at the impressive journey

Up to now, Ninh Binh has attracted 103 FDI projects with a total registered capital of over 1.8 billion USD. Of these, Taiwanese investors dominate with 18 projects, with a total capital of over 767 million USD, equivalent to 42.2% of the total FDI capital of the province. These projects mainly focus on the fields of manufacturing electronic components, supporting the automobile industry, garment, and leather shoes.

In particular, the biggest mark is the presence of TC Motor in Gian Khau Industrial Park - the most modern automobile assembly complex in Vietnam. The presence of this "locomotive" has brought along a series of satellite projects, creating a large-scale supporting industrial ecosystem, opening up thousands of jobs, and contributing significantly to the local budget.

Geopolitics, infrastructure, human resources – strategic cards

Ninh Binh has a strategic geographical position as it is located on the North-South traffic artery, about 90 km from Hanoi , with Ninh Phuc port connecting waterway transport, the North-South railway and the North-South expressway. The synchronous investment in industrial park infrastructure and clean land ready for handover are great advantages compared to many other localities.

Not stopping there, the province also focuses on human resource training. Vocational schools and technical colleges are assigned the task of closely following business needs and training highly skilled workers. Young human resources at reasonable costs have become a “magnet” attracting investors, especially in the context of the automobile industry needing a series of skilled engineers and technicians.

What do investors see?

Mr. Chen Wei, Director of BKY, shared at the groundbreaking ceremony: “We chose Ninh Binh because of the clean land fund, good infrastructure, reasonable costs and most importantly, the strong commitment from the government. This will be our strategic base in Vietnam.”

Nguyen Van Dung, a young engineer from Ninh Binh, could not hide his joy: “Before, I had to go to Bac Ninh and Hai Phong to work. Now, my hometown has large factories, I can return, develop my career and take care of my family.”

Stories like these bring life to the investment attraction picture, turning dry numbers into concrete, familiar shapes.

A new Ninh Binh is taking shape – where million-dollar projects are no longer a dream, where young engineers do not need to leave their hometowns to start a business, where businesses find a safe and long-term berth. The road ahead is still long, but with determination and a defined vision, Ninh Binh deserves to be named on the map of the most breakthrough localities in Vietnam in the next decade.
