Ninh Binh: Solemn activity to honor Buddha's relics

Information from Bai Dinh Pagoda said that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has moved the ceremony of inviting Buddha's relics from Bai Dinh Pagoda to Phuc Son Pagoda, Bac Giang Province to 6:00 a.m. on May 23, instead of 10:00 a.m. on May 22 as previously scheduled.

From early morning on May 21, many people and Buddhists lined up to welcome the Buddha's relics, which were brought from Ha Nam province along the old National Highway 1A, passing through many central streets of Hoa Lu city such as Trinh Tu, Ton Duc Thang, Dinh Dien, Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Hong Phong, Le Dai Hanh, Tran Hung Dao, and Trang An streets to return to Bai Dinh pagoda.

The procession carrying Buddha's relics moved safely, strictly protected by authorities, from Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam) to Bai Dinh Pagoda ( Ninh Binh ).

The ceremony to bring the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni to Bai Dinh Pagoda was attended by His Excellency Sandeep Arya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam; along with representatives of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and leaders of Ninh Binh province.

At the sacred space of Tam The Temple, monks, nuns, Buddhists and people performed rituals to enshrine Buddha's relics, chanted sutras and prayed.

The ceremony to bring Buddha's relics was held solemnly and respectfully, expressing gratitude and honoring the Buddha's compassion and wisdom.

Bai Dinh Pagoda opens, arranges hundreds of electric cars, free drinking water and vegetarian meals for people and Buddhists to visit and worship Buddha's relics; ensures security, order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation...

Although it was late, there were still many people lining up to worship and pay homage to Buddha's relics at Bai Dinh Pagoda.

The flower lantern night praying for national peace, world peace, and happiness for all living beings at Tam The Temple of Bai Dinh Pagoda - where Buddha's relics are enshrined - took place solemnly in the general joy of the public.

In the past few days, the Organizing Committee has tried its best to provide the best support for people to worship.

The logistics team and volunteers at the pagoda have always silently contributed, supported, guided and taken good care of thousands of Buddhists and people from all over the country who came to worship.

From early morning on May 22, people flocked to pay their respects to the Buddha's relics.

This event contributes to arousing respect and belief in goodness in every citizen and Buddhist; creating opportunities for monks, nuns, Buddhists and tourists to worship, pay homage, cultivate merit and connect spiritual beliefs.

This is also an event of great political, diplomatic and cultural significance; an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh province in particular; affirming the policy of religious freedom and open foreign policy of our Party and State.
