Located deep in a small alley on Dung Si Thanh Khe Street, the former temporary house of Mr. Truong Van Day's family (residential group 47, Thanh Khe Tay Ward) has been replaced by a new, spacious, clean house with a living room, kitchen, and iron door frames for long-term use. In the house, which still smells of new lime, Mr. Day could not hide his joy at the attention and help from authorities at all levels. Mr. Day is 65 years old this year, a poor household, earning a living by selling lottery tickets. Faced with his difficult circumstances, the Da Nang National Sports Training Center supported 50 million VND, and Thanh Khe Tay Ward supported 30 million VND to rebuild the dilapidated, leaky house.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Khe Tay Ward Le Hoang said that according to the first phase of the review, the ward has 15 households in need of housing support, including 3 new households (2 meritorious households and 1 household in difficult circumstances), 12 households (9 meritorious households, 3 poor and near-poor households) to be repaired with a total cost of 730 million VND. Up to now, 15 households have started and completed the construction and repair. To carry out the movement, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the ward have issued specific decisions and plans, including establishing a steering committee to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; strengthening the leadership of party committees at all levels in the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses... In addition to resources from the state budget, the ward also calls for the participation of organizations, businesses, philanthropists and the social community. At the same time, many synchronous solutions are deployed such as financial support, providing construction materials, mobilizing construction support forces, etc. to ensure that poor households and policy families can access support sources quickly and transparently.

Along with Thanh Khe Tay ward, other wards in the district have made great efforts in developing plans and assigning specific tasks to each unit and member towards the goal of completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses as soon as possible. In particular, Thac Gian ward has exceeded the set target with 19/18 newly built and repaired houses in phase 1 and 4/10 houses in phase 2. The locality has proactively called for support from organizations, businesses, officials, and residents in residential areas to the "Elimination of Temporary Houses" fund to provide additional support to the people. In addition, effective social security models such as "Kindness Point" and "Brick of Love" have also been implemented by the ward, supporting working days and materials.

With a high spirit of determination, Chinh Gian ward has deployed its tasks, promoting the sense of responsibility of each party member and cadre in residential areas. At the same time, it has promoted extensive propaganda about the policy and the humane meaning of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for policy households, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in the area, thereby creating high consensus in the community and mobilizing all resources to build new and repair dilapidated houses.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vo Van Doan Ward said that in phase 1, the entire ward has 38 households that need housing support, including 17 households with meritorious services, 5 poor households, 3 near-poor households and 13 households under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. In addition to the policy of supporting budget resources, with the positive response and participation of the entire political system from the ward level to residential areas, the cooperation of organizations, businesses, philanthropists... basically, all houses that need to be rebuilt or repaired have been implemented, and are expected to be completed by the end of April.

According to the leaders of Thanh Khe district, after the first round of inspection, the district has 149 dilapidated houses that need to be rebuilt or repaired, of which 19 houses are newly built and 130 houses are repaired. The district is focusing on urging localities and related units to promptly complete the project and hand it over to households for use in April. At the same time, it is directing wards to continue the inspection of temporary and dilapidated houses to propose to the city a list to be added in the second round.
