Efforts to organize the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup

Phu Yen Newspaper had an interview with Mr. Le Hoang Phu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the local organizing committee about the preparation, scale and significance of the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup.

* How are the preparations for the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup going, sir?

- We determined that this is one of the important sports tournaments of Phu Yen province in 2025, so we have prepared quite early to ensure the factors, helping the tournament take place successfully, creating an impression for athletes from other countries to come to Phu Yen and Vietnam to compete. On November 9, 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation signed a memorandum of understanding on the organization of the tournament. This is the basis for the units to carry out assigned tasks, ensuring conditions for the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup.

With the role and responsibility as the standing agency, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism advises on the establishment and introduction of local officials to participate in the tournament organizing committee and specialized subcommittees; coordinates with the Volleyball Department of the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to carry out professional tasks, as well as logistics, to ensure the tournament is a great success.

We have also developed an impressive script for the opening and closing ceremonies to highlight the tournament. In addition, the organizing committee is interested in propaganda work on mass media and visual encouragement, billboards, banners, and streamers; coordinating with local press agencies and resident press agencies in the province to increase information about the tournament, helping many people know about the first continental sports tournament held in Phu Yen. These are important tasks that the organizing committee has prepared, thereby bringing spiritual food to Phu Yen sports fans.

Up to this point, the organizing committee has determined that the tournament will attract 22 teams from 10 countries and territories to compete. The tournament will take place from April 22-29 (main competition from April 25-28). The athletes competing in Phu Yen are Asian-class athletes.

According to the schedule, on April 21, experts from the Vietnam and Asian Volleyball Federations will be present in Tuy Hoa City to coordinate with the local organizing committee, check the competition conditions, ensure the tournament will be successful, and create an impression for foreign athletes coming to Phu Yen for this tournament.

* What are the advantages and difficulties of Phu Yen province in organizing an international sports tournament for the first time, sir?

- In terms of advantages, the tournament has received attention and direction from the Provincial People's Committee; the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism identified this as one of the important sporting events of the province in 2025. In addition, there is the attention of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, when closely following and coordinating with the local organizing committee to deploy the organization and professional work for the tournament. Up to now, the preparation and implementation stages of the tasks of the coordinating organizing units have also been specifically identified.

Phu Yen Sports has experience in organizing national beach volleyball tournaments and is highly appreciated by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation. This helps Phu Yen province confidently host the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup.

Cong May Group Joint Stock Company is the sponsor of the tournament and has shown its determination in coordinating the implementation of preparations, including the construction of 2 competition fields and 1 warm-up field; security systems, fire prevention, emergency, medical equipment, sound, and watering according to the design and standards of the organizing committee.

This is also the unit that coordinates the organization of the tournament's celebrations and logistics. Through understanding the progress of the work, I realize that this unit has high determination and responsibility, bringing peace of mind to the organizing committee. We have built a specific plan for accommodation and transportation for the organizing committee, athletes, guests, and delegates, ensuring to leave an impression on the tournament.

This is the first time we have organized an Asian-level sports tournament, so during the preparation process, we have encountered certain difficulties. However, with the attention of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, the sponsor, the implementation plans have been smooth. Athletes from 10 countries and territories will arrive in Vietnam via airports in Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces. The organizing committee has a thoughtful reception plan, arranging interpreters to help the athletes feel most comfortable when competing in Phu Yen. This is also a way for us to show our hospitality, promote the unique images and beauty of Phu Yen to athletes from countries in the region and the continent.

* In addition to its sporting value, will the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup help Phu Yen province promote its marine tourism potential?

- One of the factors that helped Phu Yen province be chosen by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to host the 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup is because we have a long, beautiful beach with sand that ensures quality and standards for Asian volleyball athletes to compete.

The 2025 Asian Women's Beach Volleyball Championship - Cloud Gate Cup attracts 22 teams from 9 countries and 1 territory to compete. The tournament will take place from April 22-29 (main competition from April 25-28). According to the organizers, the athletes competing in Phu Yen are Asian-class athletes, thereby bringing a sports feast to fans. This is also an opportunity for Phu Yen to promote and attract tourists to the land of yellow flowers and green grass .

Besides, we determined that foreign athletes coming to Tuy Hoa beach to compete is also an ideal condition for the local organizing committee to promote and introduce Phu Yen land with many historical relics, beautiful landscapes, and poetic beaches.

With the current preparation, we are confident that we will have a successful tournament, leaving a strong impression on the athletes coming to Phu Yen to compete.
