Strong "7 Kings" rice wine

Not only delicious due to the traditional process of making rice wine with yeast from traditional Chinese medicinal herbs and manual distillation, the "7 Vuong" rice wine product of Truong Minh Vuong business household (Phuoc Long village, Binh Dao commune, Thang Binh) also goes through a detoxification process so it is safe for users.

In 2017, Mr. Truong Minh Vuong started building a wine distillery using manual methods. However, with the desire to improve the product, he invested nearly 1 billion VND to build a factory and equip modern machinery to produce wine.

In addition, unlike many places that use regular rice to make wine, Mr. Vuong chooses sticky rice produced right in his hometown of Binh Dao combined with traditional yeast cake made from Northern medicinal herbs to produce wine.

The distillation process is also strictly controlled. After being steamed, the sticky rice is cooled, fermented and put into a distillation system to remove methanol and aldehyde, two compounds that can be harmful to health. Next, the wine is put through an aging machine to increase its quality, before being stored in a warehouse for 3 months to achieve the best flavor.

With a closed production process, ensuring safety, "7 Vuong" sticky rice wine was granted a certificate of typical rural industrial product in 2023 by the People's Committee of Thang Binh district and recognized as meeting the 3-star OCOP product standard in 2024.

In particular, Mr. Vuong's wine production facility also meets HACCP standards - an international food safety management system. Currently, the facility consumes nearly 10 tons of sticky rice each month, producing more than 6,200 liters of wine. With a market price of about 30,000 VND/liter, the monthly revenue reaches more than 180 million VND. Not stopping at sticky rice wine, Mr. Vuong is researching the production of additional wine lines combined with fruits and some other wine products.

“Currently, customers are particularly interested in the quality of wine. This is the potential for me to boldly invest in developing more lines of wine with higher quality and higher prices,” said Mr. Vuong.

Mr. Phan Thanh Hung - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Binh Dao Commune said that recently, the Farmers' Association has created conditions for the 7 Vuong sticky rice wine product to be recognized as meeting the 3-star OCOP standard. Since achieving the 3-star OCOP standard, the wine production facility has ensured quality, creating trust for customers. The Farmers' Association will continue to support this brand to develop more sustainably.
