The country's largest vegetable and flower production center
Statistics by early October 2025 show that Lam Dong province has developed 107,306 hectares of high-tech agriculture , including 1,200 hectares of smart agriculture. There are a total of 17 production areas and 10 enterprises recognized for applying high-tech agriculture. Enterprises, cooperatives, and vegetable and flower producing households in the Lam Dong area of thousands of flowers have been effectively applying sensor systems, measuring microclimate, nutrition, collecting data, and cultivation diaries to control the production chain. Based on that data, producers control drip irrigation commands combined with fertilizer injection, helping plants grow optimally for yield and harvest quality. The results of high-tech agricultural production annually reduce about 20% of fertilizers and pesticides, save 30-50% of irrigation water, and achieve profits of 115-120% compared to conventional production.
Notably, F1 Biological Company Limited, Cao Nguyen Seedlings, Quang Nguyen have invested in applying software systems to support staff in entering data using smartphones, monitoring propagation, quickly scanning infections using QR codes with full information of the transplanter, type of environment, seedling batch, plant code, number of infections, strictly controlling the quality of seedlings... Every year, tissue culture units have produced and supplied over 50 million original seedlings of all kinds, of which over 35 million are exported, with a total revenue of about 10 million USD.
Mr. Tran Quang Duy - Deputy Head of Lam Dong Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection assessed: "In the period of 2021 - 2025, the crop production industry in the three regions of Lam Dong of thousands of flowers, Lam Dong of blue sea and Lam Dong of great forests has maintained its role as a pillar of the economy , overcoming difficulties caused by climate change, epidemics and market fluctuations. Thereby, applying science and technology, shifting crop structure towards increasing added value, promoting the advantages of each ecological region associated with the consumption and export market...". Accordingly, the average crop production value in the period of 2021 - 2025 of the whole province increased by 4.56%. Production area according to GAP certification standards and equivalent (23,489 ha); UTZ, 4C (122,247 ha); organic (4,024 ha). In 2025 alone, Lam Dong province will continue to affirm its position as a major vegetable and flower production center in the country with a total area and output of 101,275 hectares (nearly 3.5 million tons) and 11,481 hectares (more than 4.6 billion branches), respectively.

Creating even more room to attract investment
If on 1 hectare of high agricultural land in Lam Dong province, the income from vegetables is from 500 million VND to 1 billion VND, then the European-technology flower crop has increased to more than 5 billion VND. Mr. Phan Thanh Sang - Chairman of the Dalat Flower Association emphasized that the province has identified 3 target pillars for economic development, which are high-tech agriculture and mineral exploitation industry, processing industry and high-quality tourism. In particular, the advantage of the flower industry is that it has a fairly high breakthrough revenue per unit area with a variety of products in the value chain linking the 3 regions of Lam Dong of thousands of flowers, blue sea and Lam Dong of great forests. In the coming time, Lam Dong's high-tech flower industry hopes to plan new high-tech agricultural zones to attract investment, form wholesale flower markets, flower trading centers, biotechnology zones to research, produce and breed copyrighted flower varieties. The Chairman of the Dalat Flower Association said: "Lam Dong has the largest natural area in the country, so there is a lot of room for the flower industry to develop to attract investment, make a breakthrough and grow from the Lam Dong area of thousands of flowers to the Lam Dong area of vast forests and down to the Lam Dong area of blue seas".
In the development strategy for the period 2025 - 2030, Lam Dong Department of Agriculture and Environment continues to restructure agriculture towards green, high-tech and circular economy, increasing the high-tech production area from 107,306 hectares to more than 150,000 hectares. The whole province reorganizes the closed value chain from production, processing to consumption, striving for 70% of key agricultural products to be deeply processed. In addition, the whole province strengthens cooperation with international organizations, research institutes and provinces of the Central Highlands - South Central Coast in river basin management, climate change response, thereby attracting international financial resources, technology and knowledge, at the same time, continuing to mobilize social resources, implementing mechanisms and policies to encourage businesses to invest in organic and circular agriculture to promote advantages and potentials, creating even greater room for future development.
