Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine (Conan Movie 26) is a Japanese animated detective film, based on the manga series - Detective Conan by artist Aoyama Gosho. The film is directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa and written by Takeharu Sakurai.

Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine focuses on the story between Haibara and the Black Organization. After many years, Haibara suddenly falls into the sights of Gin and the notorious gang. Conan must go rescue his friend.

The work is produced by TMS Entertainment. This is the 26th installment of the Detective Conan film series after Detective Conan: Halloween Bride (2022). This is also the first time in 22 years since the movie Detective Conan: Last Seconds to Heaven that Haibara Ai becomes the main character.

Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine was released in Japan on April 14 and is expected to be released to Vietnamese audiences next July.

Just released, the film has been a big hit in the Japanese market. The film has earned 850 million yen (nearly 149 billion VND) and is the highest-grossing Conan movie in Japan. The film also ranked 5th in the list of movies with the highest opening-day revenue in Japan. On movie review sites, Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine received a storm of praise from the audience.

However, in contrast to its box office performance in Japan, the film is facing anger from Chinese and Vietnamese audiences. The film was criticized by audiences for the scene where Haibara performed CPR on Conan while they were both drowning in the sea.

Specifically, during a diving scene, Conan's oxygen tank malfunctioned, making it impossible for him to breathe. Afterwards, Haibara swam directly to Conan's rescue. Some viewers pointed out that this was just artificial respiration.

However, the fact that Conan and Haibara were said to have "kissed" (even indirectly) caused a heated debate among the audience. Many viewers declared a boycott of the film because they thought the screenwriter was ruining the childhood of many people with inappropriate details.

In Vietnam, the fan community of the Detective Conan series also had many related posts.
