On May 10, in Venice, Northern Italy, the Diversity in Architecture Award (DIVIA) 2025 ceremony took place, on the opening day of the Venice Biennale 2025 Architecture Exhibition.
The ceremony selected seven outstanding female architects from many nominations from around the world, of which Vietnamese architect Tran Thi Ngu Ngon was honored as this year's winner.
According to a VNA correspondent in Italy, architect Tran Thi Ngu Ngon, co-founder of Tropical Space, won the DIVIA 2025 award with sustainable architectural works using local materials such as terracotta bricks, demonstrating a creative combination of tradition and modernity and a deep sensitivity to Vietnamese culture and climate.
These projects have become a source of inspiration in applying indigenous architecture to sustainable development trends, not only in Vietnam but also in the world.
The DIVIA (Diversity in Architecture) Award was established to honor the outstanding contributions of women in architecture, a field where women's contributions are large but little known.
Architect Tran Thi Ngu Ngon received a prize worth 10,000 euros and was featured in a special exhibition at Palazzo Mora, which runs until November 23, 2025.
