8th grade female student beaten and stripped by friend

Ha Tinh: An 8th grade female student in Loc Ha district had her hair pulled, her shirt stripped off, and her face slapped by two younger students on a deserted street, while several other students stood by and watched and filmed the incident .

On August 31, the head of the Departmentof Education and Training of Loc Ha district said that the three students involved all studied at a middle school in Thach Kim commune. The victim was in 8th grade, the two female students who were assaulted were in 7th grade. The commune is coordinating with the police and the school to clarify the cause of the incident.

Previously, three videos nearly 10 minutes long were circulated on social media, recording a female student being pushed down on a deserted street by two friends who then grabbed her hair, stripped off her shirt, and slapped her repeatedly in the face.

Around them, some other people were standing there, holding their phones and recording videos. One girl even shouted, "Don't beat them up, don't strip them, it's a sin." However, the group didn't stop, and no one intervened to stop them.

Since the beginning of the new school year, cases of female students beating up their friends, stripping their clothes, and filming them have occurred frequently in many localities such as Quynh Luu (Nghe An), Huong Son, Thach Ha (Ha Tinh), Dinh Quan (Dong Nai), and Quang Tri town (Quang Tri). The common point is that the female students were beaten, stripped, and filmed in the middle of a deserted street, witnessed by many people, but no one intervened.

In the summary report of the 2022-2023 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training identified school violence as one of the problems of the sector. The Ministry estimated that nearly 7,100 students were involved in school violence in 2022. According to regulations, disciplinary action for students who violate the law currently includes three forms: warning, reprimand, and temporary suspension from school.
