Trang has a studious "gene" as her father is a doctor, her mother is a pharmacist, and her brother is studying abroad after receiving scholarships to 5 prestigious universities in the US.

Thien Trang won scholarships to 10 boarding high schools in the US
“When I was in 9th grade, I searched and applied to boarding high schools in the US. Many students choose to find schools through centers. At first, I also searched through the centers, but some of the schools there did not suit me.
After that, I searched through the schools' websites to see if I was suitable, then proactively texted and submitted my application for an interview... I prepared a lot from academic certificates such as IELTS, SAT, and wrote essays to send to the schools. Along with that, I studied well to keep my average score of 9.7 for the whole year, and the result was that I was selected by 10 schools in the US," Trang confided.
Trang shared that she always attaches importance to discipline in studying and arranging time reasonably. A female student spends 5 hours a day studying at school, 3 hours in extra classes, then she participates in sports activities, social clubs...

“Discipline will help you focus most during your studies and achieve good results. Recently, many students are tired and stressed, I want to tell them not to be too strict with themselves, learn to accept their shortcomings and gradually correct them. We should start from the smallest things and gradually do big things, not starting from the beginning doing big things, and when we can't complete them, we will be disappointed,” Trang said.
Although Trang was accepted to 10 schools, she decided to choose The Grier School (Pennsylvania, USA) with a scholarship worth 2.7 billion VND. She chose this school because of its suitable climate, weather, and scholarship benefits. Trang is expected to leave for a foreign country this August to study and seek new successes.
“Studying abroad is considered the goal of many young people in their journey to conquer knowledge and expand their career advancement opportunities. I believe that there are many interesting and new experiences waiting for me in a prestigious country like the US. I will try my best to study well,” Trang said.

The female student said that before going to study in the US, Trang had some worries such as there were few Vietnamese students at school and she had to stay in the school dormitory. The culture and cuisine in the new country were also somewhat affected.
“It may be difficult for me to adapt to the new lifestyle at first. In the past, I prepared myself mentally and learned about the activities of the new school in advance to see how students register for subjects, how they study, and what extracurricular activities are like. From there, I planned a few activities in advance, and when I got there, I participated without thinking. I always try my best to achieve the best results when doing something, and I believe I will soon get used to the new environment,” the female student said.
Talking about her plans, Trang confided that in the future she wants to become a doctor to help people. After completing the programs, she will bring the knowledge she has gained back to Vietnam to contribute to the country.
“I think a lot, when I finish studying in the US, such as university, master's or doctoral programs, I will return to my homeland to open projects and activities to support students who have a passion and interest in studying abroad. Further, if I have the ability, I will open a medical club to contribute to hospitals and help patients in difficult circumstances,” Trang confided.
Do not put pressure on your children to study.
Doctor Nguyen Thanh Tien (Thien Trang's father) said that the family has accompanied their child's success through educational principles, attitudes, and inspiration from their parents.
“My family has let our children form good habits on their own with a schedule that is allocated according to their wishes, and we have done it with them every day for many years.
Always encourage your child to study comfortably, without pressure, without worrying about grades. Besides creating conditions for academic development, the family also creates conditions for the child to have time to develop physically such as swimming, learning to play an instrument, learning music, practicing yoga... to maintain health," said Mr. Tien.
Besides studying, Trang also participates in social activities.
Next, the habit of reading books with their parents was trained by Mr. Tien's family since the age of 3 by looking at picture books and reading stories before going to bed, gradually forming a habit for Trang.
Mr. Tien has guided his child to approach English from grade 1, the child actively studies, organizes and allocates time reasonably for school subjects. The family also trains the child to book tickets and tours domestically and internationally without parents during holidays, summer, and Tet, gradually training the habit of independence from a young age as a foundation for studying abroad at a boarding high school later.
Besides, no matter how busy they are, Mr. Tien and his wife still try to accompany their children when they need them. From there, Mr. Tien understands the strengths and weaknesses of his children, guides them to develop their strengths and improve their weaknesses.
Mr. Tien acknowledged that what he and his wife inspire their children with is a passion for learning when they are young and doing research later to contribute to society, not the pressure of degrees.
