Enthusiastic, responsible, and dedicated to her profession, for the past 30 years, Dr. Le Thi Loan, Head of Phong Coc Ward Health Station (Quang Yen Town), has always devoted herself to her work and to her patients. She has always proactively advised local authorities and leaders to effectively direct and implement medical work and disease prevention in the area, contributing to health care and improving the quality of life of the people.
Born and raised in the hometown of Bach Dang River, in 1993, graduating from Quang Ninh Medical College, young doctor Le Thi Loan went to work at Nam Hoa Ward Health Station. Thanks to her dedication and responsibility for the profession, in February 1994, the Town Health Department created conditions for her to study general medicine at Hai Phong Medical University. Graduating in October 2006, she went to work at Yen Hai Ward Health Station, and in 2012 was appointed Station Chief. In 2014, she was transferred to work as Station Chief of Phong Coc Ward Health Station until now. After 30 years of working at the grassroots level, in all positions, she always tries to study, improve her professional qualifications in all aspects, and complete the assigned tasks well.
Talking to us, Dr. Loan shared: The area I am in charge of is one of the wards and communes in the Ha Nam island area (Quang Yen town). In the first years of working in the locality, the lives of the people here still faced many difficulties, not paying attention to taking care of their own health and the community. Many people work in fishing, often away from home, causing many difficulties for the Station in carrying out preventive medical work in the locality; especially propaganda activities, mobilizing people to prevent epidemics.
Fully aware of the difficulties of the locality, as soon as she came to work in the locality, Dr. Loan and the medical staff of the unit regularly advised the Party Committee, government and mass organizations of the commune to organize propaganda, raise awareness of self-protection of health, disease prevention and control in families and communities; focus on propaganda and mobilizing people to do a good job of environmental sanitation, practice hygienic living and eating habits...
Over the past years, as the Head of the Ward Health Station, Dr. Loan has focused on leading the unit to synchronously implement measures to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people. With the belief that the medical profession is a noble and glorious profession, Ms. Loan always considers patients coming to the Station for examination and treatment as her relatives, being close, asking about them and caring for them. She always cares about building a relationship of solidarity and cohesion within the unit, creating conditions to help her colleagues progress together and successfully complete their assigned tasks.
In particular, remembering Uncle Ho's teachings to doctors: "Patients entrust their lives to you. The government entrusts you to treat illnesses and maintain the health of our people. That is a very glorious task. Therefore, medical staff must love and care for patients as if they were their own brothers and sisters, considering their pain as their own. A good doctor must be like a mother", Dr. Loan has constantly learned and practiced to best fulfill her responsibility.
While doing management work and directly examining and treating patients, Doctor Loan cannot remember how many people she has taken care of and consulted on treatment methods; how many sudden accidents have been promptly treated by her and the doctors and nurses of the First Aid Station before being transferred to a higher level for treatment. With her caring, thoughtful, and dedicated work, Doctor Loan has received the love and affection of the local people.
Ms. Vu Thi Dia (Zone 6, Phong Coc Ward) said: “Doctor Loan is always devoted to the patients. Anyone who comes to the Health Station for examination and treatment is warmly welcomed and taken care of by the doctor. Everyone in the ward trusts and loves Doctor Loan.”
Phong Coc Ward Health Station currently has 6 staff; of which 4 are medical professionals, 1 is a population specialist, and 1 is a pharmacist. The staff is small, while the population is large (the ward currently has over 8,000 people), so the Station faces many difficulties in the work of initial medical examination and treatment for people and disease prevention in the area. To improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, every year, Dr. Loan develops a plan early, leads the staff and employees of the Station to regularly coordinate with local sectors and organizations to do a good job of propaganda and mobilizing people about the benefits of taking care of their own health and the community's health... Thanks to that, over the past many years, the Station has successfully completed its assigned tasks. Notably, in 2022, although there were epidemics in neighboring communes and wards, including dengue fever cases, there were no cases of this epidemic in Phong Coc Ward. This is one of the successes of the grassroots medical facility.
With her dynamism in management and operation, always putting her heart into the patient, Dr. Le Thi Loan is loved and trusted by colleagues and local people. For many years, Dr. Loan has received certificates of merit from various levels of awards.
