Female Ward Police Chief close to the people

As one of the typical female leaders, with more than 25 years of working experience, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Le Ha, Head of Mao Khe Ward Police (Dong Trieu City) not only excellently completed her professional tasks but also affirmed the role and position of women in the armed forces.

Since March 1, 2025, when Quang Ninh implemented the project to reorganize the local police apparatus, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Le Ha, then Deputy Chief of Dong Trieu City Police, made many people admire her when she voluntarily wrote an application to become Chief of Mao Khe Ward Police. She is the only district-level police leader in the whole province to proactively "go to the grassroots" during this reorganization. "I chose to apply to work at the ward police because I determined that the commune-level area is close to the people, so I can solve problems as soon as they arise" - Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Le Ha shared.

After implementing the two-level local police model, Mao Khe Ward Police was supplemented with 10 officers. Currently, the unit has 28 officers, a significant increase compared to the previous number of 18 officers. The key commanders are all experienced officers who have held the position of captain of professional teams of the City Police. This change has helped the work in the area to be handled quickly and neatly right from the grassroots level, bringing practical results to the people.

Within 3 months (from March 1 to May 31, 2025), under the close direction of Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Le Ha, Mao Khe Ward Police investigated and clarified 2 criminal cases (including 1 rape case and 1 case of property fraud), arresting 2 subjects. In particular, the unit successfully dismantled a drug trafficking and illegal use ring with military weapons, seized 2 guns, 2 ammunition boxes and many important exhibits, and handed them over to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Provincial Police) for further investigation.

The unit has also detected and handled 4 cases/12 subjects related to drug possession, trading and use. Social prevention work has also been effectively implemented. Within just 3 months, the Ward Police sent 4 subjects to voluntary drug rehabilitation, 1 subject to compulsory drug rehabilitation, established 2 localeducation records for bad teenagers, advised on the punishment of 4 establishments violating food safety and hygiene with a total fine of 10 million VND.

To do a good job in professional work, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Le Ha is always the leader who goes directly to the field, closely working with the people. During night shifts and times going to the scene to investigate cases, she always participates and gives timely instructions. Many cases of domestic violence and petty theft have been discovered and handled promptly thanks to the decisive and flexible direction of the female police chief of the ward.

Under his leadership and direction, with his management experience from his time as Deputy Chief of the City Police, many models of maintaining security and order have been effective, such as: "Self-managed security team", "Smart camera", "Self-managed neighborhood group on security and order", "Model ward police on security and order and urban civilization"... These models contribute to raising legal awareness in the community and building the image of a friendly police force close to the people.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Cong, a resident of Vinh Quang 1 area, Mao Khe ward, shared: "Now it is much closer to do administrative procedures, and we are given detailed instructions. We strongly agree with the implementation of this 2-level local police model."

With many outstanding achievements during her 25 years of service, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Le Ha has been repeatedly commended by the Ministry of Public Security , the Provincial Police Director and the City People's Committee. She has been a grassroots Emulation Fighter for many consecutive years and in 2024 was honored as "Outstanding Female Police Officer of the Nation". This is a noble award recognizing the tireless efforts of a female soldier who is "both red and professional", when she herself works in the People's Armed Forces and is a solid rear for Uncle Ho's soldiers.

“As a woman, I have to try even harder to complete my mission. The greatest joy is to see everyone peaceful and happy” - the simple but passionate saying of Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Le Ha is also the motto of life and work that she has always kept throughout her journey.
