Pepper price today, September 20, 2024, in key areas increased by 500 - 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday and traded around 148,500 - 151,000 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces was 151,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, Dak Lak pepper price was purchased at 151,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) was purchased at 148,500 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices today increased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Binh Phuoc , pepper prices today are at 150,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it is at 149,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Thus, domestic pepper prices today increased by 500 - 2,000 VND/kg in key localities. The highest pepper price is at 151,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,589 USD/ton, and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,154 USD/ton.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is at 7,000 USD/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is at 8,800 USD/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper is at 10,900 USD/ton.
Vietnam black pepper price is traded at 6,800 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,100 USD/ton; white pepper price at 10,150 USD/ton.
Preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association show that in the first 15 days of September 2024, Vietnam exported 6,917 tons of pepper, with a total export turnover of 42.3 million USD.
The main exporting enterprises include: Olam Vietnam: 970 tons, Phuc Sinh: 743 tons, Haprosimex JSC: 568 tons, Tran Chau: 561 tons and Nedspice Vietnam: 480 tons.
On the other hand, Vietnam imported 706 tons, with a total import turnover of 3.7 million USD. Olam Vietnam, Tran Chau and Phuc Thinh were the three largest importers, reaching 149 tons, 109 tons and 105 tons. Indonesia and Brazil were still the two main pepper suppliers to Vietnam, reaching 359 tons and 245 tons.

Meanwhile, the latest figures from the General Department of Customs are slightly higher. Accordingly, Vietnam's pepper exports in the first half of September reached 7,278 tons, worth 45.4 million USD, up 1.1% in volume and up 72.4% in value compared to the same period last year.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year to September 15, pepper exports reached 190,208 tons, worth 923.3 million USD, down 2.5% in volume but up 44% in value over the same period.
Pepper export prices in the first half of September averaged 6,239 USD/ton, up 3.8% compared to August and up 70.5% compared to the same period last year. In the first 9 months of the year, pepper export prices averaged 4,854 tons, up 47.7% compared to 3,286 USD/ton in the same period in 2023.
