Raising quails "pocket" a salary of 15 million/month
First is the quail farming model. The quail farming model is a new way of doing business that Mr. Tran Van Co's family (permanent resident of Thanh Bien hamlet, Loc Thanh commune, Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province) has implemented very effectively in recent times.
In early 2015, Mr. Tran Van Co's family started raising quail for eggs and meat with a scale of only 2 cages and 150 quails. After a trial period, Mr. Co's family saw the effectiveness.
So in March 2022, with their own capital, Mr. Co's family joined the Thanh Bien Hamlet Savings and Loan Group (led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hop).
Ms. Hop helped Mr. Co's family complete the application and apply for a loan "Support for employment, maintaining and expanding employment", with a loan amount of 63 million VND.
Mr. Co borrowed money to buy more cages, incubators, quail breeds and food, and to expand his quail farming.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hop, the quail farming model of Mr. Tran Van Co's family does not require much care and investment capital. This is considered a model that brings stable economic efficiency to people in rural areas. Therefore, the savings group creates maximum conditions for farmers to borrow capital and develop quail farming.
Currently, the number of quails raised at Mr. Co's family is about 5,000. Quail eggs are produced by the quail flock every day, Mr. Co sells an average of about 2,000 eggs per day to the market.
Quails are ordered by restaurants and eateries and are regularly supplied by Mr. Co’s quail farm. Mr. Co’s family’s monthly income from selling quail eggs and meat, after deducting the cost of food, medicine, electricity, water, etc., earns about 15 million VND.
Mr. Tran Van Co shared: “Quails are easy to raise, but raising them in large numbers is not a simple task. Because, when raising them, you must regularly monitor, care for, and prevent diseases to keep the flock healthy. To do so, the barn must be cleaned and disinfected. The food must be nutritious and the water source must be fully provided, so that the birds can develop well and reproduce with quality.”

Mr. Co added: “Thanks to capital from the Social Policy Bank of Loc Ninh district (Binh Phuoc province) through the Savings and Loan Group of Thanh Bien hamlet, my family has capital to develop the quail farming business, gradually escape poverty, and then develop the family economy to a new level - more prosperous. Currently, my family is also in need of additional capital to expand the model, in order to increase family income.”
Quail farming model has many advantages, moderate land fund for breeding, not too large investment capital. Stable output, because the products including eggs and commercial quail are rich in nutrients, affordable price, less fluctuation; so the market is increasingly popular, capital recovery time is fast.
The initial effectiveness of the quail farming model, from Mr. Tran Van Co's household, promises to open up a promising direction. Through that, neighboring localities will encourage breeders to experiment and create a basis for replication.
Further promote the policy of diversifying livestock with high economic value and sustainability; in addition to traditional livestock and poultry farming, to increase people's income.
Titan pigeons sit and eat and lay eggs in a cage
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tung, permanent resident of Group 2, Quarter 1, Tan Dong Ward, Dong Xoai City (Binh Phuoc Province) said: "At first, I went online to learn how to raise them.
After that, I went directly to large pigeon farms in Dak Lak and Binh Duong provinces to learn how to take care of the birds.
Through the learning process, Mr. Tung realized that this model only requires a quiet, airy, and well-lit barn; and the food source is also easy to find, such as bran, corn, and brown rice.
From the experiences he learned, Mr. Tung found that the Titan pigeon breed (a pigeon breed originating from Thailand) is very easy to raise, reproduces quickly, has high commercial value, and brings economic efficiency. Mr. Tung decided to invest in raising Titan pigeons.

Mr. Tung took advantage of the family's abandoned pigsty to raise pigeons in cages. The initial scale was 120 pairs of pigeons; to date, Mr. Tung has bred 230 pairs.
Mr. Tung said: With 230 pairs of parent birds, the daily care is not much. He spends about 2 hours/day feeding the birds. And, he cleans the cages once a week.
Completely confining each pair separately is also very convenient for monitoring reproduction as well as preventing disease.
Titan pigeons are very fast growing birds. After 5 months of raising, they begin to reproduce, with female pigeons laying one clutch each month.
To make it more effective when pigeons incubate eggs, Mr. Tung lets the mother bird incubate fake eggs, and for real eggs he uses incubator technology and adjusts the temperature to give the eggs a higher hatching rate.
After the eggs hatch, the mother pigeon is allowed to raise the chicks. This way, the mother pigeon will continue to lay eggs while raising the chicks.

Along with raising Titan pigeons (originated from Thailand), Mr. Tung also raises domestic pigeons. Because each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. This form of raising is to diversify the source of breeds and provide commercial products according to market demand.
Currently, on the market, pigeon meat (commercial) has different prices such as: Titan pigeon (Thailand) according to current price, from 140-150 thousand VND/pair, domestic pigeon is currently from 100-120 thousand VND/pair.
With the model of raising pigeons in cages, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tung; up to today, the model has been truly successful, gradually helping his family escape poverty and bring stable income.
Mr. Tung's practice of raising Titan pigeons in cages has been learned and replicated by many farmers from neighboring localities. In 2024, farmer Nguyen Duc Tung was honored by the Dong Xoai City government as a typical example of a farmer who does well economically.
