According to the announcement released this afternoon, April 11, by Tan Hiep Phat, Mr. Tran Qui Thanh and Ms. Tran Uyen Phuong are the founders and have been running the business for many years. The incident involving Mr. Thanh and Ms. Phuong will certainly affect Tan Hiep Phat's operations.
Notably, the announcement said that Mr. David Riddle has assumed the role of General Director and legal representative of Tan Hiep Phat Company.
Mr. David Riddle is introduced as a person with a lot of management experience in large corporations around the world , having participated in the activities of Tan Hiep Phat Company for more than 13 years as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The company also announced that with the management system and team built over many years, Tan Hiep Phat will make every effort to minimize the adverse effects of this incident on the company's operations and related partners.
Tan Hiep Phat reassured that "the transactions of the individuals in the above incident are not related to the company's operations" and expressed "trust in the fairness of legal agencies in the process of resolving the incident, trust in the objectivity of the media, customers, and partners when evaluating the incident".

On the afternoon of April 10, the Ministry of Public Security announced that the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency had issued decisions to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Qui Thanh and Tran Uyen Phuong. At the same time, it issued a decision to prosecute Tran Ngoc Bich of Tan Hiep Phat Trading and Service Company Limited.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security assigned the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (C01) to investigate, verify, and resolve the content of the petitions of a number of citizens in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province denouncing Mr. Tran Qui Thanh and his daughters Tran Uyen Phuong, Tran Ngoc Bich, and a number of other individuals.
The complaint accuses Mr. Thanh and his two daughters of committing acts of "Fraudulent appropriation of property", "Abuse of trust to appropriate property", "Tax evasion", "Extortion of property" in projects and real estate of particularly large value in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City since November 2020.
The investigation process so far has sufficient grounds to determine: The actions of Tran Qui Thanh and his daughters Tran Uyen Phuong and Tran Ngoc Bich have sufficient elements to constitute the crime of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property", stipulated in Clause 4, Article 175 of the Penal Code.
On April 8, 2023, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued decisions to prosecute Tran Qui Thanh, Tran Uyen Phuong, and Tran Ngoc Bich. On April 10, 2023, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency executed an order to temporarily detain Tran Qui Thanh and Tran Uyen Phuong and conducted searches of the residences and workplaces of 9 locations of the 3 suspects.
