Mr. Gianni Infantino is the only person to apply for the presidency of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) for the 2023-2027 term within the prescribed time limit. At the FIFA congress held today (March 16), Mr. Infantino was officially re-elected with the support of the majority of member federations.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared on the FIFA homepage: " I would like to thank the more than 200 FIFA member associations and the six continental confederations for their support. I feel honored to be able to serve the global football community for the next four years."

Mr. Infantino received the support of many national football federations and associations. In 2015, Mr. Infantino received the support of the UEFA Executive Committee to run for the FIFA presidency. In 2016, Mr. Infantino was first elected president of FIFA at the Extraordinary Congress in Zürich, Switzerland. He replaced his predecessor, Sepp Blatter, who had to resign due to his involvement in corruption and money laundering cases.
Over the years, Mr. Gianni Infantino has achieved many milestones, including increasing the number of teams participating in the Men's World Cup from 32 to 48 teams, the Women's World Cup from 24 to 32 teams from 2023 and the Club World Cup will have 32 teams from 2025.
He has also been active in developing football in Africa and Asia, regions with great untapped potential. In addition, under Infantino's leadership, FIFA has carried out major reforms to the development of world football, especially in the player transfer system.
At the 73rd FIFA Congress, the Vietnam Football Federation delegation included President Tran Quoc Tuan, Secretary General Duong Nghiep Khoi and Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Minh Chau. In the meeting before the FIFA Congress, the FIFA Council passed important decisions including: The competition format of the 2026 World Cup, the international match schedule for men's and women's football; Unanimously approved amendments to the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP) regarding registration time and protection for unemployed players; Approved regulations related to the operation of the FIFA Talent Development Project, with an investment budget of 200 million USD from 2023 to 2026.
